From today's Nashville City Paper: Reverend T.J. Graham, midday talk show host at WVOL-1470AM, a Nashville radio station with a primarily black audience, had as a guest Rev. James David Manning, the pastor of Harlem's Atlah Worldwide Church.

In the article, Rev. Graham described Rev. Manning as 'controversial'...

“This man has been trashing Barack Obama in a fashion that makes what the Rev. Jeremiah Wright said sound mild,” Graham said of Manning. “He’s called Obama’s mother trash, and is on the record as saying any black man who hasn’t been in jail can’t be trusted. He’s downing him in very specific and vicious language.”

So, being charitable and cautious, I searched the web for information on Rev. Dr. Manning. I've found some good stuff. And, Dr. Manning has a new fan! Like Dr. Bill Cosby, Rev. Manning has sharp criticism for those who deserve it.

But, there's some not-so-loving articles and put-downs from non-fans (who would rather hear the weak-link stuff that stifles self-sufficiency...)

Rev. James David Manning, the pastor of Harlem's Atlah Worldwide church, insulted Barack Obama by calling the presidential candidate "trash" and a "mack daddy".

"His African-in-heat father went a-whoring after a trashy white woman," said Manning, who is a proclaimed Clinton supporter. "[Obama] was born trash."

"He got started -- you didn't notice him 'til he brought out those big-chested white women with their tight T-shirts and their short pants," said Manning about how Obama started his campaign. "That's what a pimp does He's a mack daddy. He pimps white women and black women. Obama is a long-legged mack daddy."

This YouTube video shows some serious sermon, buddy. This man doesn't pull any punches. Just see for yourself.


Rev. Manning's telling Obama supporters to get up and be men, describing black men as "the weakest men on the planet" because of affirmative action. This is strong stuff, and something that is worth hearing. "The future of the African-American people is in my mouth..."

I would listen to this man. He speaks build strength, where others in the black community seek to enable their personal power by plying on and pandering to weaknesses. You listening, Jesse?

"Barack is an emissary of the devil...I'm your last hope"

Whoo boy, this makes me want to go out and get two or three part-time jobs and please, pass that collection plate around twice!

This pshop is the result of an email request. For what purpose, I don't know. Honestly. But I can make a post out of it, given another angle I hoarked from AOSHQ.

First, not being a 'pop-culture' savant, I didn't really know who Ashton Kutcher was (is). Wiki tells me he's an Iowa farmboy made good, he comes up from a bad family background. AK attempted suicide, had issues with petty thievery, went through some heavy-duty partying in college...I can relate to that! But not a hint of teh ghey...after all, Kutcher's married to Demi Moore, who was married to Bruce Willis...much like the NFL's Minor League, there's always a coaching marriage carousel in Hollyweird...

So, when this pic shows up in my email, wanting Ashton Kutcher's visage attached, somehow, I wonder if he's gay or not. And how in the world I can make it work...if he isn't?

Is Ashton Kuthcer ghey? Probably not, from my research; but Hollywood does do strange thing to Iowa Farmboys, I'm sure of that...

He's probably on the bubble!

Which brings me to the tie-in...h/t Ace. If Kutcher has bent to Where No Man should Ever Stoop, there may be hope for him!

From the latest Nature Neuroscience Journal (via pop-culture icon Fox News)...Scientists have managed to turn Homosexuality on...and off! in Fruit Flies...

Post-doctoral researcher Yael Grosjean found that all male fruit flies with a mutation in their GB gene courted other males.

"It was very dramatic," Featherstone said. "The GB mutant males treated other males exactly the same way normal male flies would treat a female. They even attempted copulation."

"Based on our previous work, we reasoned that GB mutants might show homosexual behavior because their glutamatergic synapses were altered in some way," Featherstone said. "Homosexual courtship might be sort of an 'overreaction' to sexual stimuli."

To test this, the researchers genetically altered synapse strength, independent of GB. They also gave flies drugs to alter synapse strength. As predicted, they were able to turn fly homosexuality on and off, within hours.

"It was amazing. I never thought we'd be able to do that sort of thing, because sexual orientation is supposed to be hard-wired," Featherstone said. "This fundamentally changes how we think about this behavior."

This study provide understanding of fruity behaviors in flies. Whether or not these 'fixes' can extend to the human animal will be a question for much experimentation (and debate; just wait until certain City-States in California get wind of this. It's OK, say the leftists, to use human embryos for stem-cell research, but try to reverse gay? That would be...FASCIST!)

So, Ashton, if you are somehow falling victim to whatever Hollyweird does to people, before you get any worse, pay some big bucks to some nice neuroscientists for some sort of anti-ghey supplement. You can then wear all the pink shirts you want, and laugh at anyone who questions why you might be carrying a dude about on a beach.

Because you'll have the stuff that returns you to normal, and you can, once again, recognize male pheromones as a repulsive stimulus.

Just like the original recognition you were born with!

I was mucking about awhile ago, and found this YouTube featuring "It's Bad You Know". Whoever put this video together decided to put pictures of "Grand Rapids, Michigan" to the music; that's inappropriate. R.L. Burnside spent some years in Chicago, where three family members were murdered in just one month. He left there in 1959, went back to Mississippi, where he spent the last years of his life. He loved New Orleans; he died 9/1/05, just after the hurricane hit.

This song was used in the HBO Classic "Sopranos" and featured in their Soundtrack CD (I recommend that, BTW.)





Not a bad song, the blues purists decry the melding of modern sounds and old school blues, but I like it. It's...edgy.
