Here we go again.

A comment I left today on Robert Stacy McCain's post detailing this mess, that might be deep-sixed by some of Frey's minions...
_____________________________________________________________________________
Dustin's learned one thing from Patrick Frey; how to spin like a Maytag Mangler.
Patrick Frey is a tenacious Deputy District Attorney (DDA) who does fine work for Los Angeles County, I'm sure of it. Being a prosecutor and an officer of the Court, he realizes he doesn't have to tell the truth unless he's under oath; he realizes that he can lie and get away with it in order to 'trip up' a suspect. He's treated JeffG like a 'suspect' for two years now; testing his defenses by leading with lies and misleading statements. Frey pulled the same stunt with RSM, wondering publicaly and often about his possible 'racism', pushing and poking and playing him to get whatever responses he wanted, then more and more push-pins in his ass to get him to react. JeffG used exactly the same tactics with Frye, who is now squealing like Ned Beatty, because he can't stand the pressure of the role reversals. And, JeffG's got the bigger push-pin, obviously.

Frey finally met his match. He invented this 'Cease and Desist' letter bomb, dropped it like an M-80 in Jeff's mailbox, but this time Frey's screwed the pooch. He has to answer for it. He can't produce the 'evidence'; his 'lawyer friend' won't come forward to help him out; the harmed 'client' is nonplussed. Actually, nonexistent, except in Prosecutor Frey's fevered mind.

So, Dustin, you should be exhorting Master Frey to put up some real evidence that he's not a liar par excellence, or tell him to apologize then shut the f**k up, forever.

Frey might well be called on the carpet by Los Angeles Internal Investigations, who could view this as the straw that broke the camel's back. For the record, Frey shouldn't be fired, just transferred to a Juvenile Court across town, so's he can go back and forth, day after day, getting some well-deserved 'freeway therapy'. Listening to Tolstoy's novels on audio CD, likely.

JeffG's post, detailing the history of this kerfuffle...

I want to take this opportunity, as I wait for the USPS to find and forward me the letter that someone paid an attorney good money to draft and then mail to an address where I don’t live — and couldn’t have lived for the past nearly 5 years (though we don’t know what address that is, or when the mail was sent, just as we don’t know when my serial cyber-harassment was supposed to have taken place, nor from what email account these “unhinged” “rants”, as they’ve been described by a DDA who claims never to have seen them or read them but who nonetheless felt comfortable classifying them, emanated) — to re-post links to the various essays of mine that started (and then re-started) this whole ugly ball rolling. Because as I was revisiting them over the past few days, I was struck by just how concerned they were with trying to engage with ideas (mostly about language), and were really anything but the “attacks on honor” the DDA and his band of howler monkeys has subsequently made them out to be.

But don’t believe me. Look for yourselves:

1) On Nobility. In which the “good man” trope is born.
2) Outlaw Speak (the follow-up).
3) Letterman’s “rape” joke (Frey waited, then later noted that I had “defended child rape” — I shit thee not! Lots of very good debate in the comment section. Note, most people disagreed with me, and I managed to argue throughout a 600 comment thread without pretending anyone issued a death threat and banning him or her.)
4. how I learned to stop worrying and love the f bomb, guest-posted on Hot Air (back before Frey’s campaign to have me booted from polite company hit its highest gear).
4) In which I don’t defend child rape, despite the claim that I do.
5) More language lessons, revisited — the post in which I detailed why the public method Frey deployed to vet Stacy McCain was linguistically flawed (and a bit unseemly).
6) Which of course, led to Frey’s series of posts about how Jeff Goldstein is violent; an intellectual fraud; not a man of substance; likes to play the race card, etc. My response was to show Frey how his OWN arguments defending his “investigation” of Stacy McCain’s (potential) racism works, and the dangers inherent to itclearly spoofing Frey’s own posts and using the opportunity to point out the linguistic problems with such arguments.

And there are others, but you get the point. And can see the pattern.
The pattern is clear. Mr. Frey is taking his job home with him; he's using the tools of his trade to attack others, his betters.

Just stop it, Frey. Get some rest, freeway therapy, or something.

Finally the long wait is over for Jeff Goldstein and countless others who were stalked and harassed by this Bush-hating lefty loon.

Ms. Doctor of Decision Science Deb Frisch, who once had gainful employment in Arlington, VA in a cushy government job, earns herself 90 days in jail (a sentence that's most likely without any early release); 5 years of probation that includes NO internet or online activities AT ALL; her Probation Officer can search without any further warrants her home and any place she visits that might allow her unlawful internet activity. Oh, and mandatory psychological counseling. For the Bush Derangement Syndrome, aggravated, that was her first step to the dark side.

CAN YOU HEAR ME NOW? If you are a Ph.D. with an unusual and uncontrollable internet addiction, and have a hatred of anything George Bush and a desire to DEMONIZE your fellow citizens who happen to not share your twisted leftist beliefs, then by all means study this woman and the path she took to complete and utter failure. It all started with picking an online fight with Jeff Goldstein.

Good riddance for 90 days plus 5 years to Ms. Frisch. May she serve as a warning to any other mad dog, Ph.D. or otherwise, who has this sort of progressive mental disease: get help whilst you still can.

UPDATE

Eyewitness account of the Lane County Court proceedings.

Sunday, December 20, 2009

Los Angeles Deputy District Attorney John Patrick Frey, Patterico, has launched a massive internet attack on Jeff Goldstein, blogger at Protein Wisdom. Not the first time he's lashed out at friendlies. Patterico's attacks started in March as a simple disagreement between old friends, but now it's taken on a surreal aspect that's seemingly without a happy ending.

Even that Walcott dude what fucks himself with a swordfish got in on the act.

What a freakin' mess it is.

This is a comment I posted at PW. There's a lot of background involved, if you're not understanding what's happening, then read the thread (all 755 comments). Or not. I won't link Barrett Brown's screed, either; if you want to read it, g00gle will be your friend.

Come on in, 'timmah'. I'm tiring of batting around my local troll, he's becoming a bit boring.

I just finished reading Barrett Brown’s (aka “Barriticus” .. no kidding, that’s his Photobucket screen name) cry-me-a-river whine-fest screed, and his Daily Kos diary. From what deep well of sorrowful bitterness and envy does “Barriticus” get the nerve to question PW’s comment section when he’s a lapdog diarist in the most bunkered-down and nassty, evil, under-bridge-troll-minded blog on the planet? Remember Daily Kos’ diarists’ reactions after the death of Tony Snow? Has anyone tried to post there who’s not of their full-metal-straight-jacketed mindset, and kept their account? For shame, Barret Brown. That KOS membership sullys any thing else you post anywhere (yes, Sullys, as in Andrew).

“Barriticus” tries to posit a link between the coming “new” world wide internet, one that’s no longer controlled by the US, a tenuous argument at best; he lamely suggests that the rest of the world’s opinions of the U.S.A will be changed and damaged by exposure to PW’s commenters. As if every other person on the planet with internet access is suddenly going to descend on any blog and delve into reading the comments. I know I do every day, don’t you? I especially enjoy reading those political blogs in China, where we find comments from the heart and soul of the free and happy populace.

Even is there was such a worldwide descent into blogger’s comments as Barrett imagines, then “Barriticus” might concern himself with his own meager comment section, which now features the creature timb, “timmah”, who was dwarf-tossed out of PW hundreds of times and still pathetically crawls around the blogs looking to trash Jeff G. That’s some unrequited love poor timmah is caught up in.

Timmah found a person with whom to share his pinings in the whining poison-pen posted by “Barriticus”.

You two girls pass notes and giggle behind your hands now, you hear? As a couple of billet-doux twisted sisters.

Outlaw

Something I've been messing around with, for the Outlaw! group.

It may be a bit dark. There's that noosey, edgy theme, but not overstrung I don't think. There's no sense of panicked retreat, a flight in fright, either. A slow, laconic pace; a glance over the shoulder, a glint of steel at the waist..

Don't even think about hanging this dude. )

Here's a post wherein you can sink your teeth. A Classical Liberal's take on the Left's intentional misuse of Rush's now-famous four words - those four words that our whimsical President found annoying (words that presented just another opportunity-knocking  challenge for Rham Emmanuel; an opportunity to vaporize the GOP's fragile structure: let the infighting begin!). An opportunity to create a distraction: while Obama gropes for a solution to an economic crisis he's incapable of understanding (please, just let the little guy finish his waffle! don't you know there's stem cells what needs killing? this economic stuff is far beyond his pay grade!) much less managing, his brain-trust siezed on Rush's four words to ignite the always-whining Democrat base, and flushed out some not-so conservative 'conservatives', and bloggers who've proceeded to feast on each other's tails.

Quite a feat, based on four words.

Jeff Goldstein forces those four words back into their contextual continuity. Something the media should've been able to do without a second thought; if they were, you know, unbiased. Instead, media and written opinion writers fanned the flames. Flames that enveloped the right side of the blogosphere: Patterico, Ace, HotAir's Allah, and others on one side; Jeff Goldstein &c. who correctly believe that we can 'give no quarter  to those who would hijack our language!' on the other.

A quick snippet..
Leaving aside for the moment the impossibly high standard that comes with demanding that a man who speaks mostly extemporaneously for fifteen hours a week need be so careful with his phrasings that they cannot be removed from their context and made to mean what they clearly weren’t intended to mean, except by great effort on the part of those whose aim it is to misrepresent intent, the subtext of such an argument is twofold: 1) by being more judicious with our words, we are providing those who are out to misrepresent us with a smaller target; and 2) that something less provocative will not alienate us with those we are hoping to win over to conservatism by appearing to them ugly or hostile — that as a strategy, being more solicitous about how we phrase things will help make conservatism more appealing, or at least, less revolting to those who remain undecided about their political allegiances.

...

All of which brings us back to those conservative political realists and pragmatists now criticizing Rush over his impolitic (or unclear) remarks: their desire for Limbaugh to be more careful with his phrasings as a way to avoid being misrepresented in a soundbite culture is, frankly, a fool’s game — and, even more frankly, it is indicative of a political strategy that amounts to conceding loss, with the concomitant hope that perhaps we’ll lose more slowly.

...

To put it more forcefully, it is a fact of language that once you surrender the grounds for meaning to those who would presume to determine your meaning for you, you are at their mercy.
Which is right where Big Government proponents want us to be.

Read the post, please. We must not allow those who would hijack our words from context and twist their meaning, to succeed. Even the modern far-left-liberals should have some problems with that, if they have any intellectual honesty left whatsoever.

Oh, and...OUTLAW!

These two themes have lingered much too long in the news; Scott Thomas Beauchamp's story is spread out over dozens of sites, but Jeff Goldstein's takes are excellent, learning, reads. Take the time and absorb them.

Vick? His dog-fighting scandal is quickly becoming a racial thing now, with ever-widening points of view based on his (lack of) a trial and his presumed innocence. We'll see, but I've a friend in Atlanta who works with Vick, and he tells me this stuff is probably, unfortunately, true. But he also tells me that if Vick is gone, it won't hurt his feelings...

I found Beauchamp's picture from...hell, I can't remember, but it's him. Follow up from Hot Air's coverage, I think. The tie-in with Vick? Beauchamp wrote in his blog that, in Iraq, he participated in running dogs over with Bradley Fighting Vehicles...probably a lie semiotic construct...

Oh, and Beau's Corner Bar? Actually, a photo I snagged, in Chattanooga, of Dude's Corner Bar, with which I took many liberties!

Jeff Goldstein's added a 'Protein Wisdom Pub', a spinoff for some of his most frequent commenters to post their own bits of wisdom. It's just getting started. Check it out; there's some better posts there than you see coming from some of our esteemed local, WKRN, established bloggers (Ya listening, Kleinheider? Ya RINO...)
