First, politically speaking, we Conservatives (a small segment of the Republican party, as seen from orbit) took a beating in 2008 and 2009 and during most of 2010. Barack Hussein Obama, the farthest-left liberal ever to occupy the White House, sent out his favorite witch Nancy Pelosi and that dastardly gnome Harry Reid to wreck havoc in the Legislative Branch of our government. Using majority control of the House and Senate, they rammed ObamaCare down our throats; the worst of many spending sprees the Left-Progressive-Liberal-Social-Democrats approved.

Thanks to the three of these horrible far-left people, we've seen voted for and spent more money that doesn't even exist than any other Congress ever (the 111th Congress spent more than the first 100 Congresses combined), money that likely can never be earned and squeeze-taxed or borrowed-printed in enough quantity to even service the interest on that debt; likely it will never be paid back.

So large a debt that in fact it most likely will eventually result in the U.S.A.'s defaulting on it's obligations; forcing austerity programs that may well cause blood to flow like water in our streets (in a worst-case scenario). And we created this debt for the sole purpose of promising mythical, unattainable YOUtopia to dreamy doe-eyed left-moocher-Liberals, socialists at heart sorts who spasmodically vote for Democrats to assuage their fears and guilts. OH, and for the all the free stuff they can get their rich-people-hating envious and greedy hands on.

Paid-for voters, who've with their votes have looted the treasury, a feat that may well culminate in the worst fears of Ben Franklin coming to pass: the end of the Republic.

In November, things began to whiff of CHANGE. We delivered to BHO a shellacking of monumental proportions. Mr. Barack Hussein Obama lost more seats in the midterms than any President since 1948. Fueled by the Tea Party (without whom the Republicans would still be wandering about in the wilderness, as was predicted after BHO won in 2008), Team R won back the House of Representatives in stunning fashion. And, again fueled by the Tea Party, they took over state Governorships (29 governorships to the Left's 20) and picked up 680 seats in various state legislatures, which will work out very well for us when it's time to gerrymander the districts.

BHO spent a lot of political capital in winning these last two fights in the lame duck session; DADT and START, two political duds that'll cost him this coming year. His poll numbers aren't very impressive. His den-of-rattlesnakes base is buzzing like Amanda Marcotte's phalanx of dildos; all of 'em having expected Teh O!ne to have miraculously ended two wars, freed all the slaves in Guantanamo, secured World PEACE! and given all of 'em Eternal Life and Free Health. Sorry, Marcos, you're in the wrong line for that action. PUMP MY FREE GAS, BITCH~!

So, 2010 ends with a glimmer of hope (OUR hope, not your DO!pe's HOPE) and not many ways out of this mess; none of 'em easy or pleasant.

We've got to stop spending. We've got to reverse ObamaCare, and replace it with something less expensive. We've got to stop the EPA from destabilizing what little spark we have in our economy; their desire to regulate CO2 is anathema to our recovery. Defund the EPA, and the NEA while you're at it.

Well, 2011 will go a long way to getting things sorted out. I still predict we won't see much progress in hiring until BHO is safely voted out of office and replaced in January 2013; he and his ilk are a cancer eating away at the heart and soul of this Nation, and we of John Galt know it. Yes, it's a battle, a fight, a war so to speak. We've no choice but to engage.

In any event, Welcome! 2011; in many ways, good bye and GOOD DAY! to 2010.

Here's some musics to help welcome in the New Year...J.D. McPherson, "North Side Gal", from his 2010 album Signs and Signifiers.

JD McPHERSON / SIGNS & SIGNIFIERS - featuring Jimmy Sutton and Alex Hall

With a strong singing voice that moves from smooth and sweet, to raw and rockin' on a dime, JD McPherson channels Little Richard, James Brown, Charlie Feathers, to name a few. Hi-Style Records is excited to present the debut release by JD McPherson, Signs & Signifiers! Hi-Style brought JD McPherson up from Oklahoma to the big city of Chicago to record this stellar 12 song, full length album. Produced by Jimmy Sutton (Mighty Blue Kings, Four Charms, Del Moroccos) and engineered by Alex Hall (The Modern Sounds, Del Moroccos), the album also features Sutton on bass and guitar, and Hall on drums and piano. Recorded to an old 1960's Berlant 1/4 inch tape machine, this stellar performance, and brilliant song writing by McPherson, all come together under Jimmy Sutton's impeccable production. This is authentic electrifying rock n' roll/ rhythm & blues with post-structural lyrics and arrangements.

The album also features guest musicians: Scott Ligon, (NRBQ's Terry Adams Rock & Roll Quartet), plays incredibly tasteful piano. Austin's Jonathan Doyle (Nick Curran and the Lowlifes, White Ghost Shivers) and Chicago's Josh Bell (The Del Moroccos) blow killer tenor and baritone saxophones. Susan Voelz (Alejandro Escovedo, Poi Dog Pondering), on violin, and Allison Chesley (Helen Money), on cello, contribute a beautiful string arrangement to the soulful "A Gentle Awakening". Rounding out the album's guests, guitar ace Joel Paterson, (The Modern Sounds) lends some choice guitar work to the Joey Simone classic "Your Love (All That I'm Missing)".
Go forth and buy that CD. Best I've heard all year, really.

Is it really gone, or just layered under cloaks for to be brought out when certain conditions are met? The headline is promising...
AP sources: Dems reach deal to drop gov't-run plan

WASHINGTON (AP) -- After days of secret talks [emphasis mine -ed.], Senate Democrats tentatively agreed Tuesday night to drop a full-blown government-run insurance option from sweeping health care legislation, several officials said, a concession to party moderates whose votes are critical to passage of President Barack Obama's top domestic priority.

In its place, officials said Democrats had tentatively settled on a private insurance arrangement to be supervised by the federal agency that oversees the system through which lawmakers purchase coverage, with the possibility of greater government involvement if needed to ensure consumers of sufficient choices in coverage.
Rushing a bill through to save BHO's political hide. At the cost of some of their own hides...there's angst in the far-left camps. Soros can't be pleased with how his money isn't working for him.

The shittle will hit the fan today. Leftist Progressives who want nothing if they can't have the "Public Option" will be furious (if they aren't, look for hidden 'triggers' in this bill).

Washington, says George Will, is on the edge; ready to asplode. Lamar Alexander, famed Senate moderate, spoke of this Health Care Reform process thusly...
"This bill is historic in its arrogance—arrogance that we in Congress are wise enough to take this complex health system, that is 17 percent of our economy and serves 300 million Americans, and think we can write a 2,000-page bill and change it all… It's arrogant to dump 15 million low-income Americans into a medical ghetto called Medicaid that none of us or any of our families would ever want to join."
The showdown between House and Senate will be one for the ages. AllahPundit sums up concisely...
"Just know that, in the span of about five hours, Reid and company have set up not one but two separate death struggles with their pals in the House."
...those struggles being of course the Public Option (seemingly dead...really?) and that troubling abortion language (it's still in there, for to kill the children at government expense. We can ban 'Christmas' from public venues, but we'll allow abortions to be funded with public monies. I guess if the kids aren't there, there's no need for a Santa Clause, eh?)

What sort of gangling monster will this health care bill resemble when it shambles out of joint session and arrives at the president's desk for his signature? Not one either your or I will be pleased with, I'll wager.

There's plenty of arm-twisting left to do. Since Republicans are powerless (except for the vague threat of a filibuster in the Senate, a long-shot at best) this bill is and will be born as ALL DEMOCRAT.

Whatever it looks like, this bill, the future reform, whatever it turns out to be, is going to be a nice albatross to hang around Democrat's necks. That, and the Cap and Trade economy destroyer (even if it's disguised as CZAR- like EPA regulations) will be ALL DEMOCRAT. All CHANGE, as promised by the Joker in Chief.

If this country suffers and collapses (or worse) under the weight of all these far-left neo-Democrat's 'progressive' proposals they are forcing to fruition, we'll know who to blame.

A bit of good news on a slow news day...the Charleston County GOP has censured Lindsey Graham.

Senator Lindsey Graham didn't just sneak over the line and dart back, he's a serial RINO who supported TARP, the envirowhacko-enabling Cap and Trade; he positioned himself on the wrong side of the illegal immigration debate (for which he was censured by the Greenville GOP in 2007).

Here's the full text of the Charleston GOP censure...
Whereas, U.S. Senators Lindsey Graham (SC) and John Kerry (MA) have called for a bipartisan bill dealing with “climate change” via a “Cap & Trade” energy bill;

Whereas, the basis of Cap & Trade – global warming caused by carbon emissions – is still in doubt as evidenced by the past decade of cooling temperatures;

Whereas, the people of South Carolina can ill afford the job-killing Cap & Trade bill’s ripple effects on our state’s economy and on personal energy bills;

Whereas, U.S. Senator Lindsey Graham supported TARP and has shown a willingness to discuss nationalizing U.S. banking institutions;

Whereas, U.S. Senator Lindsey Graham has shown a condescending attitude toward his constituents by calling them “bigots” when they oppose his stance on amnesty for illegal aliens;

Whereas, U.S. Senator Lindsey Graham has stated on many occasions that his primary concern is to “be relevant”;

Whereas, U.S. Senator Lindsey Graham continues to hold the Republican Party hostage and undermines Republican leadership and party solidarity for his own benefit by joining the “Gang of 10″ and the “Gang of 14″;

Whereas, U.S. Senator Lindsey Graham – in the name of bipartisanship – continues to weaken the Republican brand and tarnish the ideals of freedom, rule of law, and fiscal conservatism.

Therefore, let it be resolved: The Charleston County Republican Party Executive Committee respectfully requests, with sincere sadness that the South Carolina Republican Party withdraw their resolution commending U.S. Senator Lindsey Graham and that the Charleston Country Republican Party censure U.S. Senator Lindsey Graham for many of the positions he has taken that do not represent the wishes of the people of Charleston County SC, such as: passing a “Cap & Trade” energy bill, bailing out banks, and granting amnesty for illegal aliens.
There is a line between what is today's far-left Democrat party and 'normal' Democrats (now Independents). What seems like center to Lindsey Graham is actually much farther left than he realizes.

We do need a strong force to counteract the new, CHANGE-oriented Obama Democrats. Moving to the left to become 'bipartisan' is just that: moving too far to the left.

This censure is well-timed. Of course Lindsey Graham will ignore it. But come re-election time, his primary fight might be a bit more interesting.

...tiny, shriveled, and with absolutely no use or value.

And that other's thinger.

The Senate (that wonderfully deliberative body, (Now! with Al Freakin' Franken!) will consider this criminally insane bill next.

Call 'em, if you care. Or not. This, by Sgt. Mom...

After the great Fall, the horizons contracted, drew in, cities in the west shriveled and the great Roman works and roads crumbled through lack of maintenance. Constantinople survived and carried on with many mutated Roman traditions until it fell to a new tribe of conquerors, but in the West, the children of empire lived among crumbling remnants, and forgot the trades and skills of their ancestors, skills that were no longer applicable or useful in the brute struggle for simple survival. Gone the baths, gone the centrally-heated villas, gone the trade, the artistry and the law, and the knowledge of how these great works were even constructed, save in a few tiny enclaves, and among a pitiful few. ...
Read it & worry.

...which just passed, 219-212. I see only 8 listed. Kick the bums out in 2010.

Republicans voting AYE:

John McHugh, New York 23rd District. From his website..."ninth consecutive term in office.

During this time, Rep. McHugh has been a champion of fiscal responsibility; lower taxes; protecting Social Security and Medicare; providing stronger, better schools; and protecting America's farmers. He has also been a leader in the country's policy on national defense.
"

Frank A. LoBiondo, New Jersey 2nd District. Ugh. ly. New Jersey, armpit of America.

Chris Smith, New Jersey 4th District. "Smith has represented the citizens of New Jersey's Fourth Congressional District since 1981, when he was sworn into office at the age of 27. Throughout his 28 years of service, he has established himself as one of the hardest-working, most compassionate and dedicated members of the House." He's been there too long. Time for a boot.

Dave Reichart, Washington (St) 8th District. "
Dave is committed to working in a bipartisan fashion with his colleagues in the House of Representatives to find viable solutions based on sound scientific practices that reach a balance between protecting our precious natural resources and providing economic growth in our nation." Way to go, Dave, you freakin' idiot. Hope you wind up booted in 2010.

Mark Steven Kirk, Illinois 10th District. "Mark Kirk represents the 10th Congressional District of Illinois located in the suburbs north of Chicago.

Now in his fifth term, Congressman Kirk is a member of the powerful House Appropriations Committee and is co-chairman of the moderate GOP Tuesday Group and the bipartisan House US-China Working Group.

In Congress, Congressman Kirk works to advance a suburban agenda that is pro-defense, pro-personal responsibility, pro-environment, and pro-science.
" Must be too close to the Chicago Machine to dare cross Obama. Horse's head, maybe?

Mike Castle, Delaware "Mike Castle is currently serving a record ninth term as Delaware's lone Member in the House of Representatives. Since coming to Congress in 1993, he has worked to bring the common-sense approach of Delaware's bipartisan legislating to Washington, D.C. He has been building bridges and forming coalitions to find pragmatic, bipartisan solutions to some of the most pressing problems facing the country and believes strongly in returning the Congressional agenda to issues that really matter to the American people." Well, you certainly have a bipartisan record, Mike. Hope you are thrown out in 2010.

Leonard Lance New Jersey, 7th District. Wait, we already had a NJ Rep, Chris Smith. Are these guys twins? "Congressman Leonard Lance was elected to the United States House of Representatives in November 2008 to represent New Jersey’s 7th Congressional District. The 7th Congressional District includes parts of Hunterdon, Middlesex, Somerset and Union Counties.

Prior to coming to Congress, Lance served as a member of the New Jersey State Senate beginning in 2002, where he represented the 23rd Legislative District. He held the position of Minority Leader of the Senate from 2004 to 2008.

Lance was sworn in as a Member of Congress on January 6, 2009 and was appointed to the House Financial Services Committee, where he will work on a wide range of issues relating to the financial services sector and the American economy.
" A newcomer, who hopefully won't return.

Mary Bono Mack, California 45th District. Wait...Bono...yep, this turdlet was married to Sonny Bono. Mary didn't start using the Bono name until after Sonny Bono died. "In 1998, Congresswoman Mary Bono Mack was first elected to serve the people of California’s 45th District through a special election held to fill the seat left vacant by her late husband, The Honorable Sonny Bono. Since then, Bono Mack has established herself as a leader on such issues as clean, alternative energy, protecting the environment, improving health care, and protecting consumers." Protecting which consumers? Maybe the ones who pay taxes should've been on your agenda, Mary!

And, California. Who knew?
There you go. Have at 'em.

Don't you love it when nutcase leftists point to the latest poll numbers showing George W. Bush (still our President and Commander in Chief, and still worthy of respect, because when these BDS-afflicted bungholes spend all their time tearing down President Bush they actually play right into the hands of our enemies WHILE WE ARE STILL AT WAR and you know that sort of thing does wonders for the morale of our forces) and gloss over the even-lower poll numbers of the 2006 DEMOCRAT congress?

Well, now, I usually don't give a rat's patooie about polls and all of that, but this latest Gallup Poll is too sweet to ignore.

Confidence in Congress is lower than ever, and now lower than Americans have expressed for any U.S. institution. Evah.

Best expressed in this here graphic...

Twelve percent.

Lower poll numbers than George W. Bush.

Lower than evil Big Bidness. Lower than HMO's. Probably lower than Mr. Hankey right after his drop.

To flush this Congress would be good riddance.

Or, as a famous local pundit used to say, "Get a rope!"
