Uh oh, Barack finds out there's real a few real defenders of Constitutional Law left after all.
0 comments Posted by kotang at 4:01 AMDemocrats reached for the sky, grabbed at the rainbow and come back to earth empty-handed. That's right, ObamaCare was too good to be true, or at least too lame to be constitutional. The entire shebang got tossed to the curb today...
Let's look ahead to the Supreme Court, shall we? I call a 5-4 decision against BHO. And if we're good, we also get limitations of any further commerce clause overreaches.
If that happens, then the lefty's whinings will be music to my ears, and bring a smile to my stone face.

At issue was whether the government is reaching beyond its constitutional power to regulate interstate commerce by requiring citizens to purchase health insurance or face tax penalties.A victory only temporarily, true; but this is the 2nd strike against this monstrosity. First, the measure was repealed in the people's House (nassty old leftist Harry Reid is trying his best to keep it off the floor of the Senate, to stifle any more debate). Now a 26-state win that forces the best and brightest minds in the nation to finish it off.
Attorneys for President Barack Obama's administration had argued that the health care system was part of the interstate commerce system. They said the government can levy a tax penalty on Americans who decide not to purchase health insurance because all Americans are consumers of medical care.
But attorneys for the states said the administration was essentially coercing the states into participating in the overhaul by holding billions of Medicaid dollars hostage. The states also said the federal government is violating the Constitution by forcing a mandate on the states without providing money to pay for it.

First, politically speaking, we Conservatives (a small segment of the Republican party, as seen from orbit) took a beating in 2008 and 2009 and during most of 2010. Barack Hussein Obama, the farthest-left liberal ever to occupy the White House, sent out his favorite witch Nancy Pelosi and that dastardly gnome Harry Reid to wreck havoc in the Legislative Branch of our government. Using majority control of the House and Senate, they rammed ObamaCare down our throats; the worst of many spending sprees the Left-Progressive-Liberal-Social-Democrats approved.
Thanks to the three of these horrible far-left people, we've seen voted for and spent more money that doesn't even exist than any other Congress ever (the 111th Congress spent more than the first 100 Congresses combined), money that likely can never be earned and squeeze-taxed or borrowed-printed in enough quantity to even service the interest on that debt; likely it will never be paid back.
So large a debt that in fact it most likely will eventually result in the U.S.A.'s defaulting on it's obligations; forcing austerity programs that may well cause blood to flow like water in our streets (in a worst-case scenario). And we created this debt for the sole purpose of promising mythical, unattainable YOUtopia to dreamy doe-eyed left-moocher-Liberals, socialists at heart sorts who spasmodically vote for Democrats to assuage their fears and guilts. OH, and for the all the free stuff they can get their rich-people-hating envious and greedy hands on.
Paid-for voters, who've with their votes have looted the treasury, a feat that may well culminate in the worst fears of Ben Franklin coming to pass: the end of the Republic.
In November, things began to whiff of CHANGE. We delivered to BHO a shellacking of monumental proportions. Mr. Barack Hussein Obama lost more seats in the midterms than any President since 1948. Fueled by the Tea Party (without whom the Republicans would still be wandering about in the wilderness, as was predicted after BHO won in 2008), Team R won back the House of Representatives in stunning fashion. And, again fueled by the Tea Party, they took over state Governorships (29 governorships to the Left's 20) and picked up 680 seats in various state legislatures, which will work out very well for us when it's time to gerrymander the districts.
BHO spent a lot of political capital in winning these last two fights in the lame duck session; DADT and START, two political duds that'll cost him this coming year. His poll numbers aren't very impressive. His den-of-rattlesnakes base is buzzing like Amanda Marcotte's phalanx of dildos; all of 'em having expected Teh O!ne to have miraculously ended two wars, freed all the slaves in Guantanamo, secured World PEACE! and given all of 'em Eternal Life and Free Health. Sorry, Marcos, you're in the wrong line for that action. PUMP MY FREE GAS, BITCH~!
So, 2010 ends with a glimmer of hope (OUR hope, not your DO!pe's HOPE) and not many ways out of this mess; none of 'em easy or pleasant.
We've got to stop spending. We've got to reverse ObamaCare, and replace it with something less expensive. We've got to stop the EPA from destabilizing what little spark we have in our economy; their desire to regulate CO2 is anathema to our recovery. Defund the EPA, and the NEA while you're at it.
Well, 2011 will go a long way to getting things sorted out. I still predict we won't see much progress in hiring until BHO is safely voted out of office and replaced in January 2013; he and his ilk are a cancer eating away at the heart and soul of this Nation, and we of John Galt know it. Yes, it's a battle, a fight, a war so to speak. We've no choice but to engage.
In any event, Welcome! 2011; in many ways, good bye and GOOD DAY! to 2010.
Here's some musics to help welcome in the New Year...J.D. McPherson, "North Side Gal", from his 2010 album Signs and Signifiers.

JD McPHERSON / SIGNS & SIGNIFIERS - featuring Jimmy Sutton and Alex HallGo forth and buy that CD. Best I've heard all year, really.
With a strong singing voice that moves from smooth and sweet, to raw and rockin' on a dime, JD McPherson channels Little Richard, James Brown, Charlie Feathers, to name a few. Hi-Style Records is excited to present the debut release by JD McPherson, Signs & Signifiers! Hi-Style brought JD McPherson up from Oklahoma to the big city of Chicago to record this stellar 12 song, full length album. Produced by Jimmy Sutton (Mighty Blue Kings, Four Charms, Del Moroccos) and engineered by Alex Hall (The Modern Sounds, Del Moroccos), the album also features Sutton on bass and guitar, and Hall on drums and piano. Recorded to an old 1960's Berlant 1/4 inch tape machine, this stellar performance, and brilliant song writing by McPherson, all come together under Jimmy Sutton's impeccable production. This is authentic electrifying rock n' roll/ rhythm & blues with post-structural lyrics and arrangements.
The album also features guest musicians: Scott Ligon, (NRBQ's Terry Adams Rock & Roll Quartet), plays incredibly tasteful piano. Austin's Jonathan Doyle (Nick Curran and the Lowlifes, White Ghost Shivers) and Chicago's Josh Bell (The Del Moroccos) blow killer tenor and baritone saxophones. Susan Voelz (Alejandro Escovedo, Poi Dog Pondering), on violin, and Allison Chesley (Helen Money), on cello, contribute a beautiful string arrangement to the soulful "A Gentle Awakening". Rounding out the album's guests, guitar ace Joel Paterson, (The Modern Sounds) lends some choice guitar work to the Joey Simone classic "Your Love (All That I'm Missing)".

What's the Unemployment Forecast? Two More Years of 'John Galt' Winter.
0 comments Posted by kotang at 4:01 AMThis article, written by a small manufacturing businessman who lives in the Midwest, published in Pajamas Media's blog, is the best damned read I've read in a fortnight.
Wondering why we aren't recovering economically? Why we are still mired in a long-running unemployment downturn with very little effort or desire to rehire and expand businesses? Jeff Pope 'splains things to you...
Who is John Galt, you ask?
We are all John Galt.

So we have a real problem. Businesses are reluctant to hire due to two hard years behind and concern about the future policies of an ideologically driven government that is clearly not pro-business ahead. Business conditions in 2010 are a little better than 2009, but nowhere near the prior levels that might encourage a more aggressive view. The three major forces in policymaking, President Obama, Harry Reid, and Nancy Pelosi, continue to hold office and make no secret that they desire to advance their agenda with or without regard to the Constitution. They and their anti-business orientation will remain in place for at least two more years. On the other side of the aisle, most of the senior Republicans who were so ineffective over the past decade will retain the same ability to compromise away government restraint for the next two years. The November elections may have helped the situation, but the Republicans have a long, long way to go to prove they are up to the generational level change it will take to turn things around. Worse, it is becoming easier to accept the possibility that the corruption between all the special interests, including corporate, and government is just too firmly entrenched and too lucrative to break apart at all. If that is true, nothing changes until an ultimate collapse.Read the whole thing.
What to do? Stay locked down, very conservative, and prepared for at least two more years wandering in the employment desert.
Who is John Galt, you ask?
We are all John Galt.

Far-left so-called 'liberals' (we know they aren't) get their first comeuppance-check today. Just how hard they get smashed in the mouth remains to be seen; but even with minimal good-guy gains (the House is a lock) we will have achieved the power to STOP the Obama craziness; we can stop this mad Prezzidint-man with his nightmarish far-left agenda dead in it's tracks.
We've seen our national economic engine stalled by Obama's embrace of Keynesian economic theory. We've watched, horrified, as his minions enacted ObamaCare whilst we sat in the bottom gully of a recession - the worst possible timing imaginable. We are barely making headway, economically, battered by debt to China, Japan and the Saudis and the deluge of 24/7 printing of new monies in the basements of the Federal Reserves around the nation. This course of economic action is obviously unsustainable; even the bottom subset of the stupidest of Democrats are beginning to realize the futility of spending one's way to prosperity. This election has to send the message to BHO and his coalition of neo-Socialists that the redistribution and the fun, mad times must end.
Unions have to take a shot in the mouth, too. For too long they've collected dues from working men and women and spent that money on Democrats. There's a couple of measures we need take immediately to thwart their hateful activities: introduce and pass "Opt-in" rules that require Union members to give written permission for that portion of their dues to be given to Democrats (right now, Union members don't have that sort of say as to what their dues monies support: even the good people in Unions must support the far-Left agenda of their Union bosses). And, we must stop 'Card Check' in it's tracks (that measure that takes away the secret ballots now necessary to newly unionize a workplace).
We'll have plenty more to do. Rolling back ObamaCare, defunding large swaths of the Obama Agenda, defunding entire federal agencies is hoped-for but still a ways off. This election is just a start, gaining traction against the entrenched.
We must stop this speeding Socialist Train. We'll win enough to do that I think.
Then it's time to take off the gloves, starting tomorrow.

Welcome to Nevada, Mr. President: A Look Ahead at 2012's Campaign Ads
0 comments Posted by kotang at 5:26 PMWho can forget this, BHO's most dramatic proclamation, made prior to the election in 2008?
"This was the moment when the rise of the oceans began to slow and our planet began to heal. This was the moment when we ended a war and secured our nation and restored our image as the last best hope on EARTH!"
Seems so blatantly false and cheesy now, doesn't it?
Sharron Angle welcomed Barack Hussein Obama to Nevada with this ad just a couple days ago. BHO is on hand to try to save Harry Reid from his fate, from an ignominious electoral defeat both for him and for his President.
Let's hope BHO fails, yet again.

Is there any valid reason for the NRA to possibly endorse Harry Reid over Sharron Angle ? Other than that a tossed steak is good?
0 comments Posted by kotang at 6:56 AMOne fine mess this is.
I voted for Bart Gordon (D), TN 6th District Representative, for over a decade, largely because the NRA endorsed him; he was deemed OK because his moderate 2nd Amendment stances weren't actively anti-gun. I also voted for Albert Gore (D) for US Senator from Tennessee for the same reasons. They, during that 'blue dog' Democrat period were, using the thin sliver of one single facet of political judgment, deemed acceptable enough for the NRA, and therefore for me.
But times have drastically changed.
We cannot continue to support these obviously deeply flawed candidates just because they (maybe in pretense) don't support (for the moment) the anti-gun agenda; support them just because they aren't 'right now' pushing for immediate Gun Control. So what if they seem OK, right now?
Gun Control is a party plank of the Democrat party; just read the NYT or the Chicago Tribune to see these 'real' Democrats wailing for complete gun bans. Flaming leftists like Illinois' Dick Durbin and New York's Chuck Schumer would seize your gun rights in a heartbeat, were they allowed to do so.
We at the NRA must open up our endorsement screening processes to factor in the wider anti-gun, pro-left agendas that now dominate the American failure that is the Democrat Party.
How about starting right now?
You, we, the NRA, must get with the reality that is the new America: Democrats are now far-left, and are the enemy of free peoples.
Seems that we can't ever support Democrats anymore, for any reason whatsoever. They have become The Enemy of Free Peoples; they are now on the Dark Side. Harry Reid supports Elena Kagan, who is an anti-gun pro-leftist-agenda Obama-rubber-stamp Supreme Court nominee. How does the NRA's possible endorsement of Harry Reid over Sharron Angle thwart the eventual success of Obama's Kagan nomination?
Just because Reid owns a shotgun, and gave a few thousand dollars to a Nevada trap club, doesn't mean he's your friend. Ever head of throwing a junkyard dog a steak, so you can get by it to steal what it should be protecting? You, the NRA, are the junkyard dog. This offhand 'donation' Reid gave to Nevada trap shooters was an undercooked steak. Reid the thief is now free to rip out parts with impunity whilst you feast on a lame-ass distraction. You will have failed.
Better that you ignore the steak and go for the jugular.
NRA, it's time you stopped straddling the fence and supporting Democrats. You cannot with any real conviction convince me, a lifetime NRA member, that your endorsement of Harry Reid is the correct choice. You must factor in his other 'qualities', mostly the fact that Reid, one of the leaders of the new far-left Democrat party, is now your, our, enemy. To endorse Harry Reid seems more like accepting that tossed steak, rather than making a calculated, correct decision.
Let me add this:
If you, the NRA-ILA, find your way to support and endorse Harry Reid over Sharron Angle, you will lose my membership. Period. End of story.
That is all.

Harry Reid (who was in Nashville last week at Al Gore's candlelit mansion for a fundraiser) argues that we don't have to pay taxes.
0 comments Posted by kotang at 6:06 AMGlad you told me this taxation thinger is all voluntary, Senator Reid. That'll save me much angst and effort as April 15 approaches.
And, I'm busy. Read this Financial Times bit where Clive Crook (that has to be a nome de plume, right?) explains why even he, a Democrat, expects the farce that is ObamaCare to fail.

Harry Reid vs. Southern Nevada Paving Employees who aren't smiling very much.
0 comments Posted by kotang at 5:49 AM(click to embiggen)
What Reid would have them believe:
LAS VEGAS—Today, Sen. Harry Reid discussed the importance of the new Jobs Bill he introduced, highlighting how this crucial legislation will put Nevadans back to work through tax cuts to promote hiring, tax incentives to avoid layoffs, and investments in infrastructure. They certainly believe him, you can tell. Even hard-core Union employees can discern when there's a politico causing a need for hip waders.
The event was held at Southern Nevada Paving, a small business that paves roads and highways. This firm benefitted from the Recovery Act’s infrastructure investments and is looking forward to taking advantage of the transportation funding allocations in the Jobs Bill. Dozens of the company’s employees were in attendance to receive a much anticipated update from Sen. Reid.
Coming a day after the Recovery Act’s one year anniversary, Sen. Reid used the event to address the progress achieved by ARRA pulling the economy back from the brink while laying out the pathway forward to create good paying Nevada jobs through this new legislation.
Reid said: “A year ago, the stimulus became law, setting the recovery in motion. We stopped the bleeding. Now it’s time to nurse our economy back to health. We are starting with a specific plan to create jobs – and to create the right conditions for the private sector to hire more workers.
“In fact, the very first bill we’ll vote on next week is a jobs plan that will cut businesses’ taxes as an incentive to hire unemployed workers. It’s a jobs bill that’s as good for the employers doing the hiring as it is for the employees getting hired.”
Oh, and we all want Obamacare, too. Each and every one of us.

Organizing for America OAF Mitch Stewart emails, begging for money for to help give "Ted Kennedy's Seat" to Martha Coakley
0 comments Posted by kotang at 10:32 AMThis is what loyal Democrats are seeing in their mailboxes this morning...
"...progressive champion Martha Coakley and her extreme opponent..." Scott Brown (who, you notice, the cowardly lizardoid Stewart never mentions by name) is far from "extreme". Of course, by definition now, ANYONE not toeing the far-left Democrat party line is "extreme". Well, listen here you little pimp Mitch Stewart, I'll be your 'extremist' if that's what's needed to force you and your cabal of leftists from power.
Oh, and 'progressive champion' Martha Coakley? Come on, that power-seeking innocent-convicting former Attorney General Massachusetts Moron doesn't HAVE convictions. She's nothing but a puppet that dances for the likes of Harry Reid. A head full of sawdust, has your 'progressive champion' Martha Coakley.
"Sen. Ted Kennedy's seat" NO, asshole, that seat is NOT TED KENNEDY'S SEAT. Ted Kennedy is rotting in hell for all we know (at least he's not drunk and driving, that much for sure); the seat RETURNED to the PEOPLE of MASSACHUSETTS, who are seemingly full of annoyance at being taken for granted by the far-left Democrats (who mostly reside in the hell-hole overpopulation center of Boston, where the poorest and youngest are attracted by the looters and moochers who give away Other People's Money to secure votes) and the wealthy corridors leading up Cape to Provincetown). There's an anti-Democrat backlash going on, if you would just notice. Doesn't matter: even if Harry Reid's puppet Coakley wins, the tiny percentage by which she wins and the ultimate efforts these leftist goons are putting out just shows how weak it is, this support for Democrats.
If Scott Brown wins, Katy bar the door.
So, do this: donate to Scott Brown. Give a few bucks, 5, 10, 25, 50 or whatever. Let's shake these leftist bastards to the core.
Serr --This is how our President wants to bring America together, by allowing under his own name a sniveling little mind-shrimp like Mitch Stewart to rattle the can for a dawg like Martha Coakley. Read that email; see the lies?
There's a crucial Senate election in Massachusetts in just three days. We need your help to win it.
The polls are tightening as right-wing money floods the state, and one even shows the race to be a dead heat between progressive champion Martha Coakley and her extreme opponent. The truth is, special elections often have very low turnout and are notoriously unpredictable.
The stakes are just too high to leave Martha's victory to chance.
If we lose, Sen. Ted Kennedy's seat will be in the hands of someone who opposes everything he fought for. We'll lose a key vote for the President's agenda in the Senate -- and put all the progress we've made toward health reform at risk.
That's why OFA is putting together a massive voter turnout effort to make sure Obama voters get back to the polls this time around -- but we need your help to pay for it. Please donate $5 or more to OFA to help fund our organizing, including our work to elect Martha Coakley.
OFA is going all out in Massachusetts -- we're sending organizers, knocking on doors, and making phone calls by the tens of thousands to make sure that folks know how to participate.
It's a huge effort, it's expensive, and time is short. But with the outcome uncertain and the stakes sky high, I don't want to wake up the morning after the election thinking that we could have done something more. If you feel the same way, please donate $5 or more to help us make Martha Coakley the next senator from Massachusetts:

Doesn't matter: even if Harry Reid's puppet Coakley wins, the tiny percentage by which she wins and the ultimate efforts these leftist goons are putting out just shows how weak it is, this support for Democrats.
If Scott Brown wins, Katy bar the door.
So, do this: donate to Scott Brown. Give a few bucks, 5, 10, 25, 50 or whatever. Let's shake these leftist bastards to the core.
