Republican Huckholio wins the Iowa Caucus (oh, and that Obama fellow wins the Lefties) UPDATE! Iowahawk's Live Blogging!
Posted by kotang at 7:05 PMYes, it's true...the Religious Right hath spoken. With a vengeance, baby! At around 34% to Mitt's 25% or so. Final numbers tomorrow, of course...
"Huckabee raced past bigger-spending, better-known Republican rivals to win in Iowa. His base includes the support of socially conservative Christians in the Hawkeye StateLeftists like Obama. Hillary and Edwards are fighting tied up for 2nd place (ahh, that imagery!).
"Former Gov. Mitt Romney placed second with 25 percent in the Republican caucus while former Tennessee Sen. Fred Thompson gathered only 14 percent of votes in initial reports.
"The win would give Huckabee, an ordained Baptist minister, momentum and credibility heading into the Jan. 8 primary in New Hampshire."
But, who cares?
Seems Iowahawk had a Precinct Party at his house...
8:15 PM: That was weird. I heard the exhaust fan running in the upstairs bathroom so I went up to turn it off. When I opened the door Barack Obama was in there torching a one-hitter. "Hey man, want a hit?" he goes, with a big grin. I'm pretty toasted already so I said no thanks. "That's cool,' he says. Really seems like a nice guy. So then he shakes out some blow on the counter and offers me a line. "No thanks man," I say. "That's cool," he says. "Y'all Chase the Dragon?" he asks, pulling out a spoon, lighter and some rubber tubing. I declined again. I'm not sure how good a president he will be, but he's certainly a lot better house guest than Hillary.
