Titans' Fisher, Colts' Dungy accused of collusion (and the Browns buy into that hook, line and stinker!)
Posted by kotang at 9:50 PMJust what we need. With the Titans squad beat all to hell, going into Sunday's Wild Card playoff game at San Diego with the season's worst collection of injured players, now on top of all that we get accused of collusion, and may face a grievance from the Cleveland Browns.
From Mike Florio at ProFootballTalk.com (can you believe Florio actually has permanent post links, now, and comments? And RSS feeds...that's world-class, Mike...)
"According to MSNBC.com, the Browns can file a grievance regarding the apparent collusion between the two teams, since the Browns would have qualified for the postseason if the Colts had defeated Tennessee.OK, already. But we don't know if Fish and Dung colluded or not. Maybe Dungy just decided to not push his team for a win. Hell, he's got a week off to rest, home field for the first playoff game, why should he risk an injury in the final 25 seconds of a meaningless game?
"Frankly, the whole thing stinks to us. Down by only six points, the Colts should have done everything in their power to try to get the ball back. Their failure to do so undermines the credibility and integrity of the game.
"And it also screwed the Browns out of a chance at the playoffs, since a reverse Music City Miracle would have knocked the Titans out of the postseason."
And exactly how did they communicate? Wave signal flags? Send a note taped to a player's jersey?
All I got's to say is, prove it. Or STFU.
