VY: "We will be in the playoffs next year”
What a shame! 60-1 odds against the Titans making the playoffs this year: three other teams had to lose (Cincinnati, Jacksonville, and Denver), and the Titans had to win. Of course, the three other teams lost! But...so did the Titans.
It's a shame, but we can't complain. At 8-8, after a 0-5 start to a season everyone wrote off after Steve McNair slouched off to Baltimore, and Voleck cried his way to San Diego (where he still is...guess what? a Backup!) (The Giants, the team Vince beat in a shocking comeback, also finished 8-8...in the NFC...and are in the playoffs). Go figure.
Jeff Fisher will have his job secured for...as long as Bud Adams wants. Floyd Reese? Who knows. Maybe. Not an issue.
If you listen to some of the fans surrounding me in the Stadium (wet for the first half, the rain was unrelenting...kept my electronic digital camera under my poncho, and not a Sears poncho either...) we should ditch half the secondary. Especially Renaldo Hill. The defense was porous this game. The offense (except for Vince's touchdown run, and some well-thrown passes) was a little staid. The field was Ugly, man, we're lucky no injuries happened because of it. The Refs threw penalty flags like rice at a wedding.
Then Testaverde trotted out there, 20 years of quarterbacking with a touchdown pass thrown every season...a record. Damn, but that was a record that hurt our feelings! Drove the score up to 40-23, final.
Then Denver loses to San Francisco, Jay Cutler couldn't win at home against San Francisco.

Flags flew at half-staff. President Gerald Ford, 38th President, is interned at the Capitol Rotunda in Washington.
They brought out the Kats Cheerleaders! I may have to check that action out, in March!
We have full sunlight, 2nd Half. The light bar in the sun...
The refs were roundly booed in the first half. All flags flew againt the Titans, it seemed...
I wonder what Lendale White was saying to Vince Young to make him wince like this?
