Kim "The Beast" Jong-un
If you've never read Frank Herbert's novel Dune (the world's best best-selling science fiction novel) then you've missed the reference; best you skip over this post, maybe laugh at the image. And immediately rectify that slight; here, Amazon, for $8, will help you out.

And don't think watching either of the broken screen adaptations makes up for your lack of doing the right thing.

The Baron Harkonnen, a despotic ruler of immense proportions, took over rule of the planet Dune to squeeze more taxes from it's subjects. He sent Glossu ("The Beast") Rabban to work the planet, to squeeze it, to show no mercy...
"A carnivore never stops. Show no mercy. Never stop. Mercy is a chimera. It can be defeated by the stomach rumbling it's hunger, by the throat crying it's thirst."
The Beast. A muscle-minded tank-brain, sent in to squeeze the population, and finally make way for Feyd-Rautha, the compassionate one, the 'pretty boy', as savior.

North Korea as Dune? Not likely. There are no fremen hiding in the bushes. And I doubt there's anything pretty in House Jong-il.

But as a tale of succession, this is a good one...
It is like the story of a one-time crown prince called Yangnyeong at the beginning of the Joseon Dynasty. The eldest son who was initially deemed the next in throne loses his status to his younger brother after falling out of his father’s favor for misbehavior. The defamed, womanizing son goes into exile.

Only this time, in North Korea, the brothers’ country faces an opaque future.

Because he is the eldest, Jong-nam, born in 1971, was often considered the most likely son to succeed North Korean leader Kim Jong-il. That was until 2001 when he got caught trying to enter Japan on a fake Dominican passport bearing the name Pang Xiong which means “Fat Bear” in Chinese. He told the police that he wanted to go to Tokyo Disneyland, which greatly enraged his father. After several days of detention, Jong-nam was deported to China, making Kim Jong-il cancel a scheduled trip to China out of embarrassment to both countries.

Prior to the globally publicized 2001 incident, Jong-nam had reportedly made several secret visits to Japan, starting as early as 1995.

Several years after the eldest son’s fallout, speculation rose over whether the throne would go to second son Jong-chol, as it usually did during the Joseon Dynasty.

Unlike his elder brother who was tutored and educated in North Korea’s elite school, Jong-chol, born in 1981 to a different mother, was educated in Switzerland for five years until 1998.

It was only early last year that the outside world learned that the “Dear Leader” finally decided to pass on his legacy to the third and youngest son Jong-un, born in 1984.
If any parallels exist between Dune and North Korea, best would be the eventual defeat of House Jong-il. Because Kim Jong-il has squeezed North Korea for decades, has oppressed the population to the point of starvation. A better successor might have been Jong-nam, who escaped to Japan and knew that bright lights at night were attractive. This young son, Jong-un, seems much like his father.

But unlike his hungry father, Jong-nam looks much like he might need suspensors to carry his future bulk.

Kim "The Beast" Jong-un. Now there's a reference you can relate to.

Liu Xiaobo should've won this Nobel Peace Prize last year. Instead, in 2009, the Nobel committee beclowned itself, and with it's poor choice awarded the Nobel Peace Prize the status of a Crackerjack box booby prize.

Finally, they do get one right, but the award's worth is now forever questionable.

Liu Xiaobo...the poor guy's stuck in prison in China, serving 11 years, for a lifetime of dissent against the Communists, and likely will never know he's won this award. I'll be his life expectancy is much shortened. The Chinese can't afford to ever let him out, because with this sort of acclaim, he's a much bigger enemy than he ever was...
Blacklisted from academia and barred from publishing in China, Mr. Liu has been harassed and detained repeatedly since 1989, when he stepped into the drama playing out on Tiananmen Square by staging a hunger strike and then negotiating the peaceful retreat of student demonstrators as thousands of soldiers stood by with rifles at the ready.

“If not for the work of Liu and the others to broker a peaceful withdrawal from the square, Tiananmen Square would have been a field of blood on June 4,” said Gao Yu, a veteran journalist who was arrested in the hours before the tanks began moving through the city.

His most recent arrest in December of 2008 came a day before a reformist manifesto he helped craft began circulating on the Internet. The petition, entitled Charter ‘08, demanded that China’s rulers embrace human rights, judicial independence and the kind of political reform that would ultimately end the Communist Party’s monopoly on power.

“For all these years, Liu Xiaobo has persevered in telling the truth about China and because of this, for the fourth time, he has lost his personal freedom,” his wife, Liu Xia, said earlier this week.

Given his detention, it is unclear how Mr. Liu would take possession of the prize, which includes a gold medal, a diploma and the equivalent of $1.46 million.
He was in prison last year, when you gave this prize to Obama, you Nobel Nincompoops.

Maybe that should be a prerequisite for giving a Nobel Peace Prize, that the recipient be in jail, or served time in jail. They would've had to wait a while to give it to BHO.

China, the brutal regime who makes the USA 'solvent', is not amused. The Chinese power cabal is 'furious'...
"Liu Xiaobo is a criminal who has been sentenced by Chinese judicial departments for violating Chinese law," the foreign ministry said in a statement.

Awarding the peace prize to Liu "runs completely counter to the principle of the prize and is also a blasphemy to the peace prize", the statement said.
"...blasphemy to the peace prize" ? Where were you last year?

Screw the Chinese. They've become an economic and world superpower by manufacturing with ultra-cheap labor and selling the USA their morally ugly goods.

China's one-child policy gives them ample cash supplies, that they then use to buy our worthless paper debt-bonds to keep our own dirty socialists happy and in power. The Chinese money they use to finance our debt is the direct result of China's policy of mass eugenics. China has a one-child-per-family mandate, selective childbirth, one-child only, with forced abortions, to the tune of 11,000,000 abortions per year. That's a lot of blood running to keep the USA cheaply clothed and trinketed.

Loves us some Chinese, we Americans; instead of being the self-sufficient superpower we once were, we are beholden to a bloody regime of Communists, a superpower because we made them one, a superpower that force-kills their own children, a superpower that just so happens to holds this dissident Liu Xiaobo in jail. For that they get the spotlight of the once-bright Nobel Peace Prize, that's now operating at quarter-wattage at best.

Yes, this Nobel Peace Prize award is 365 days late, and a few trillion dollars and 11 million lives short. Thanks, Nobel Committee, you evil-clown fucks.

Bush League.

Ann Counter tried to speak at the University of Ottawa but couldn't. Leftists and Liberals did what they so want to do here in America...silence a conservative; SHUT UP whatever opposition they deem unworthy.

This is so America in a few years. If we allow these Liberal Fascists to get where they want to be.

I don't think we'll go that route.

Kenneth Gladney, a St. Louis Conservative who was passing out "Don't Tread on Me" flags, was attacked and beaten by Obama's brownshirts: the Union Thugs making up the SEIU.

From the YouTube link...
From the St. Louis Post-Dispatch:

St. Louis County police say six people were arrested. Two of those were arrested on suspicion of assault, one of resisting arrest and three on suspicion of committing peace disturbances. Carnahan was gone when the ruckus started.
Kenneth Gladney, a 38-year-old conservative activist from St. Louis, said he was attacked by some of those arrested as he handed out yellow flags with Don't tread on me printed on them. He spoke to the Post-Dispatch from the emergency room of the St. John's Mercy Medical Center, where he said he was waiting to be treated for injuries to his knee, back, elbow, shoulder and face that he suffered in the attack. Gladney, who is black, said one of his attackers, also a black man, used a racial slur against him before the attack started.
It just seems there's no freedom of speech without being attacked, he said.
Remember, Obama's White House called on thugs to "punch back twice as hard" against anyone opposing his proposed Health Care reform. Seems to me to be almost an impeachable offense: calling on his nascent "Civilian National Security Force" to crack down on the heads of law-abiding protesters. Did George Bush ever do that? Hell, no! This President is much more dangerous than George Bush was ever even imagined to be.

This President is only 6 months in office, and he's trying to provoke a civil insurrection. Obama is nothing more than a goon, a Chicago goon who wants to ramrod his economically unsound Health Care plan through Congress without hearing any voiced opposition. Never mind that this very same issue nearly destroyed Bill Clinton's early Presidency (it did serve to send Hillary back to the kitchen for awhile); Obama has taken this disastrous social program as his political flagship. If this Health Care Reform goes down in flames, well, Obama is much weaker.

Which is exactly the best thing that could happen. Read my masthead, up there at the top. If Obama is weaker, then the nation will be safer.

So, how do we, Conservatives, respond to this ramped-up thuggery?

We have to be smarter than they are. That shouldn't be too hard.

We know this: Those moochers ACORN rounded up as ‘voters’ (those attracted to the far-left wing that’s taken over the once-proud Democrat Party) are likely only temporary voters; they had only the motivation of the ‘what’s in it for me?’ carrot and we might see them, as usual, become lazy and unmotivated by the next election. These moochers are not liked by the majority of Americans, who remain at center-right, at worst. I think that we’ll see a reversal in 2010...if we can ‘organize’ our community, and keep ourselves in reasonable control, and not take the bait Obama is throwing at us.

We should keep the pressure up on those to the far-left, and not do anything that would draw the negative attention Obama wants to spray on us. If we stay in the realm of center-rightedness, and not get too wacky, we’ll be joined by untold millions by 2010. And we will win at the ballot-box.

We must be Careful, though; the strategy that the Obama - Rham Emmanuel camp is concocting is to negativize the meaning of our protests, by process of demonization. We have to try to keep our efforts visible, but within the realm of our core convictions. And we can't allow ourselves to respond with any violence. Obama would declare Martial Law in a heartbeat; that's right up his alley. Next, he would attempt to confiscate our arms.

In other words, we must keep our noses clean. Don't rise to Obama's SEIU - ACORN bait. Don't allow SEIU - ACORN to provoke violence. Keep lawyered up. Fight thuggery with legal tactics.

Join Americans for a Limited Government, and push for a Special Prosecutor to investigate the link between Obama and his brownshirts. We have to derail Obama's tactics, before things get out of hand.

Another instant classic, "Canadian Radio Classics: Warman of the Royal Canadian Mounted Human Rights Police".

In case you're not checked out on Canadian political correctness (makes our stateside version seem a bit weak, for now) just know that what you say or blog (or even think, huh?) can be used against you in a kangaroo court. No matter what it is that you say, print or post, the threshold for (in)tolerance is very low. A single complaint to the Canadian Human Rights Commission can bring down the stuffed shirts with an axetogrind...

Marc Lemire is a computer whiz, and also past-president of the late Heritage Front, a neo-Nazi organization. That is to say that while a quick glance at his freedomsite.org looks mostly concerned with free speech, he is not the ideal poster boy for it.

Enter Richard Warman, a former CHRC employee but now a serial complainer to it with a seemingly boundless vulnerability to offence. He complains about offensive comments on Lemire's web page.

Lemire is then charged under Section 13.1 of the Canadian Human Rights Act, which makes it illegal to disseminate material on the Internet "likely to expose a person or persons to hatred or contempt."

For Warman, it is a familiar evolution; he has done this a dozen times before with other people, and is so far 12 for 12.

Lemire, however, suspects the commission itself may be the source of some comments.

Sure enough, at the tribunal, two CHRC employees admit logging in under false names to post provocative comments.
Including Warman himself, posting under the handle 'axetogrind'.

It's a big complicated mess. I'm just glad I don't live in Canada; they can keep their restrictive clauses and trumped-up overlawyered injustices up there. And in Massachusetts. Our own liberals here in the U.S. have a desire that we be just like the Canadians, with their poor-quality socialized medicine, their absolute gun control, and this nearest thing to thought crime since Orwell put a camera in every TV set.

Oh. Back to Iowahawk's post.

You'll find, of course, Waxman and...Reconstructed Eagle. This character had my characteristically stoic half-smile turn to an actual, well, grin.

If you can believe that.

Team PW's Dan Collins links this article where The Chosen One hath spoken thusly...
"But I also think these folks should lay off my wife," he told "GMA" as his wife chuckled beside him.

...

"But I do want to say this to the GOP. If they think that they're going to try to make Michelle an issue in this campaign, they should be careful. Because that I find unacceptable,"
Well, Mr. Obama, then you should corral M'chelle and keep her off the campaign trail. If you feel she can't handle criticism, tell her to STFU, stay at home, and bake cookies for the kids.

I want to say this to the Tennessee GOP: Good Job! Finally, you are getting off your creaky old bones and hitting some sensitive nerves. It's about time.

If the Tennessee GOP wants to take the lead as 'bad boys' in this campaign, then so be it. I'll support Bill Hobbs on this one.

Let's keep some bright lights and high pressures on the Democrats. After all, we've seven years of BDS to remember.

The "Developing...." version, from Drudge...

CLINTON STAFFERS CIRCULATE 'DRESSED' OBAMA
Mon Feb 25 2007 06:51:00 ET

With a week to go until the Texas and Ohio primaries, stressed Clinton staffers circulated a photo over the weekend of a "dressed" Barack Obama.

The photo, taken in 2006, shows the Democrat frontrunner dressed as a Somali Elder, during his five-country tour of Africa.

"Wouldn't we be seeing this on the cover of every magazine if it were HRC?" questioned one campaign staffer, in an email obtained by the DRUDGE REPORT.

In December, the campaign asked one of its volunteer county coordinators in Iowa to step down after the person forwarded an e-mail falsely stating that Barack Obama is a Muslim.
What did you expect? Negatives, from a Clinton campaign?

Surely, you jest~!

No word yet on whether this was anywhen near Halloween...

Gotta get this in before the Titans-Colts game on NBC tonight. I'm grilling some victimized beef later on...

Dan Collins over at Protein Wisdom's been grilling Glen Greenwald over his latest nonsensical tripe-attack of Peggy Noonan's column whereby she laughed much at John Edward's hairalogue performances (on this YouTube piece). Peggy wrote "John Edwards is not reasonable. . . . .[W]e can’t have a president who spent two minutes on YouTube staring in a mirror and poofing his hair. Really, we just can’t." Of course, that written remark set off Gleen[s] victimization gaydar, given that poof means 'faggot' in England. Read the comments (192 at last count) on Dan's first post; hilarity ensues.

So, my bit for Poofgate...

Yeah, I noticed the NIE nonsense just a couple days ago, but this has been one of the busiest weeks I've worked in years. So, this 'chop was late in fruition.

From this political cartoon (seen at Ol' Broad's place)...

And overly fond memories of this here skit from Monty Python and the Holy Grail...

...comes some rainy-day inspiration for a new photochop. Grim, but true...

...for free speech and criticism.

It's time again to show my support for Ann Coulter. Of all the right-side firebrands who draw the ire of the Democommies, Ann does so with no apologies. Michelle Malkin is another, but without as much controversy. Ann draws ire because they hate her. Almost as much as they hate Rush Limbaugh, Pat Buchanan, Tony Snow, Steve Forbes, Bill O'Reilly, Sean Hannity, William F. Buckley, Jr; the list is as long as the political roll of the Republican Party. The Democratic party of tolerance that can't tolerate dissent.

Many Republicans draw back from her, so as to keep a separation of sorts. That's a firewall I don't need, I don't apologize for my Hard Right views. I appreciate Ann for her willingness to express her opinions in the face of hostility. That, and she's easy to look at...

This post from her website shows exactly the Ann I love*...

"Democrats should run Mahmoud Ahmadinejad for president. He's more coherent than Dennis Kucinich, he dresses like their base, he's more macho than John Edwards, and he's willing to show up at a forum where he might get one hostile question -- unlike the current Democratic candidates for president who won't debate on Fox News Channel. He's not married to an impeached president, and the name "Mahmoud Ahmadinejad" is surely no more frightening than "B. Hussein Obama."

And liberals agree with Ahmadinejad on the issues! We know that because he was invited by an American university to speak on campus."
* Love that woman, I do (in a purely distant and platonic sense, mind you...)

Ann has a new book, recently outed. Pick up a copy at your local book peddler. Or click this link, and buy it directly from Ann's site.

Remember, she's not as she's portrayed in the leftist spin machine. There's humor in her remarks, if you can see past her curtain.

Sarkozy, described as conservative (not that Sarkozy is a Conservative in the Reagan sense of the word; after all, French President Chirac was also described as 'conservative', but didn't seem much conservative to me) won the Presidential election in France early today.

Nicolas Sarkozy riled up a lot of Frog Youth in 2005, by using the correct word "scum" to describe their behaviors. Lots of rioting ensued. He didn't back down from his assessments, either, when challenged by the Socialist Leftists who would tolerate such behaviors, and dismiss them as being just what society deserves for being...societal...

"I intend to continue to call a hoodlum a hoodlum and scum, scum," he said last week. "It's not a word that's insulting, it's the behavior of hoodlums that's insulting."
Some of our Republican Leadership and other elected officials could take a few lessons from M. Sarkozy, it seems...

Sarkozy is tough-on-immigrants (including the Muslim-to-France takeover immigration scourge), and supposedly tough on lawbreakers. The Socialists, voiced by Ms. Royal, predicted violence if Sarkozy were to win, and the population of spoiled-by-social-handouts are now poised for more car burnings:
"If Sarkozy wins, there will certainly be riots here in Clichy and all over France," said Mohammed Saidi, a first-time voter who was born in Morocco.
Another first-time voter, 20-year-old Fatma Celik, said that if Sarkozy wins the runoff May 6, "people are going to go crazy here."
Well, there's police at the ready for riots, burning cars, and other typical French-style loser protests.

The voted-out loser? Ségolãne Royal, a woman who wanted to legalize millions of undocumented illegal immigrants, and promised cradle-to-grave health care (no, that might have been Hillary..the French have that program, already) According to this commentor, posted at the Timesonline article, losers will include the set of all women who aren't Muslim:
"Sarko is denying the rights of true french citizens. It is not the fault of the muslims that we have large families and french are to selfish to bring up children. if we outnumber them in a generation it is Allahs will. Their crude hedonistic promiscuous lifestyle has created a woman who won't bear children."

Dvaid Laihood Mohammed, rabat morroco,
(I almost read that as rabid moonbat...)

So, there you have it. An election in the books, leftists claiming disenfranchisement, socialists in arms and rioting, Muslims at "peace" with the world. All is well.
