I spotted the original illustration over at my favorite Lefty Photoslant blog; it's from a skittish NewYorkMag dot com article entitled "Oilbama" that tries to implore our stressing Prezzidint to 'take charge' and just plug the damned hole, by hook or crook. New York Mag observes that BHO's latest trip to the disaster scene (where he partook of 'Grand Isle Spoil')... "For Obama, the trip marked the end of a week spent frantically attempting to corral a narrative spinning out of control."
The Lefty Photoslant guy asks, haltingly, of the NYMag illustration...
Creature of industry? Smooth no longer? And, what’s with the hands? He sure would like to label this 'RAAAAACIST!' because, well, it's troubling. My comment there...
I’m usually pretty good at reading pictures, but I’m having trouble with this one. It illustrates Heilemann’s latest at NY Mag. The piece outlines what JH sees as opportunities for Obama in the oil blowout, wondering if the Prez can use the crisis to reach for greatness.
How do you make sense of this? Also, do you see a racial element?
Hey, that’s pretty good! Catches the essence of Obama’s presidency, leaking out the pipelines onto the ground, like the best part of him running down his mother’s leg.
Anyone crying RAAAAACIST! is simply clutching at straws. Calling racism! is all the left has left when they run out of arguments, so we’re used to that. Sorry, it isn’t so, and it’s making for a poor shield, especially now and today after so much misuse and overuse since early 2007.
The only thing I’d change here is I’d have Barack Otroleum pointing a dripping finger at BOOOOOOSH!, because that’s his favorite excuse and way ‘out’ of ALL problems where he wants to deny ownership (isn’t that everything that’s come up in his Presidency?).
After a busy day of playing in the sun and water, I looked again at that illustration, and 'fixed' it.
As it should be, and how it really is.
