Seems Mr. Barack Hussein Obama, he himself of the far-left, isn't far-left enough anymore for Unions and MoveOn dot org sorts of progressives. Why kill the country with Obama's style of slow death of molasses-moving CHANGE, they bellow, when you can rip out it's still-beating heart and chew on that ?

In today's NYT, an editorial points out that BHO prolly shouldn't be laughing in his sleeve about the drubbing the Proggs took in Arkansas...
They may not have won, but discontented Democrats sent an important message to the Obama administration on Tuesday by mounting an unexpectedly strong primary challenge to Senator Blanche Lincoln of Arkansas. For the White House to minimize the efforts of unions and others who helped support that challenge suggests a tone-deafness to the growing restlessness in the Democratic Party.

After Mrs. Lincoln narrowly defeated Lt. Gov. Bill Halter in the primary runoff, a senior White House official told Politico.com that organized labor had just wasted $10 million in its “pointless” support of Mr. Halter, money that could have been better spent against Republicans in the November general election. David Axelrod, the president’s senior adviser, told The Washington Post that “good progressive candidates around the country” could have benefited from that money.
I'd say that $10 Million probably should have stayed in Union member's pocketses in the first place, but we know that the driven membership in these Proggly Unions aren't really smart enough to think for themselves, and need the upper level Union Management to spend their 'contributions' for them, progressively. Dirty socialists that they are, the money will always be given to the farthest-left candidate possible. Why Unions get to spend their member's money on political campaigns and fund politicians like Halter, whilst at the same time Democrats loudly cry to high heaven when Corporations would like to do the same, is always a good observation..

This last line of the NYT editorial needs airing...
Rather than dismissing such concerns and ridiculing efforts at change, the White House should consider just how powerful they [the far-left coalition of Unions and MoveOn] have become. There are virtues to pragmatism, but it should be in the service of an underlying principle.
Can you believe this? The 'virtues to pragmatism' referred to are BHO's halting recognition of the massive debt the US is laboring under; the realization that we are probably only months away from a catastrophic economic breakdown that will probably rip this Republic apart and set us on a course reminiscent of the Soviet breakup, with regionally and ideologically-grouped "State-Nations" (I'm thinking Texas and Tennessee will be inseparable), only a thousand times more violent than the relatively bloodless Soviet dissolution. That's the  pragmatism these sorts are decrying, and it's obviously unacceptable to these whack jobs in Unions and MoveOn.

That's the real reason they are termed "Proggtards".

Another article from the New York Post gives us more insight into the Union - Proggtard reaction to the White House's "but we could have used that $10 Million somewhere else !"...
...an anonymousWhite House official snarked to Politico, "Organized labor just flushed $10 million of their members' money down the toilet on a pointless exercise."

Oh, snap. Organized labor was not amused.

AFL-CIO spokesman Eddie Vale fumed: "Is the lesson they are taking out of tonight that they can go after labor and anonymously trash us and we will put our tail in between our legs and slink home? That ain't happening."

Other leading liberals expressed outrage and a commitment to keep on flushing, results be damned.
Love it when these bastiches fight over the soon-to-be-rotting corpse of America.
