Constitutional promises

You wonder where the constitutional scholars are nowadays. You need look no further than Hillsdale College, located in rural Michigan. This, from Larry P. Arnn, president of Hillsdale College; published in their newsletter Imprimis:

"What is fundamental is the purpose and function of our political system. Either we shall have limited government, in which a few vital things are tended to with a careful eye and strong but limited powers, or else we shall attempt to allocate the labor and capital of the nation by force of law. This second will make a disaster of a kind not seen in this country from its first days."
The progressives of this nation desire for everyone to experience equality of outcome, to achieve a nirvana on earth that's economically impossible. That sort of socialism was tried several times in human history, and failed miserably, after costing millions of lives.

What our founding fathers had in mind was equality of opportunity, where every American has a chance to succeed in spite of government meddling, not because of government intervention.

We're on a path now, led by a man who is as far left-progressive-socialist as any who've previously ever held office, that will lead to a confrontation with our constitution. A confrontation that's greased by progressive educators who've 'dumbed down' enough of our citizenry so much so that most of 'em will embrace whatever CHANGE is coming without giving second thought to the consequences, just to secure their own future's outcome. Nevermind that that socialist outcome will shift our nation's direction, and might eventually end the promise of "We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights..."

That right of pursuit is guaranteed. The outcome of that pursuit is not. We have the right to get out there and pursue our futures, unhampered by excessive governmental restrictions. The government's purpose to to guarantee equality of opportunity.

So get out there and pursue your own future.
