Titans vs. Texans Week 3 - Sept. 21, 2008 Titans 31, Texans 12

A high-scoring game, surprisingly easy to win. The Texans just couldn't get anything done in the red zone. The Titans, again, with a stifling defense.

The Titans are 3-0, and off to their best start since 1999. I took about 130 pics, of which only these I consider interesting. Click them for enlargement; some are pretty good sized.

Jeff Fisher with Kerry Collins, pre-game warmups. Jeff has a keeper in Kerry Collins. I think Jeff's gotten lucky. He'll have an outbreak of superstitions now. Remember the beard?

Vince Young? This might be him. I searched for Vince on the sideline, pregame, but he definitely didn't suit up. I can't tell from this angle. Probably not, given his height. But the posture...defensive, maybe? Psychoanalyze this.

Craig Hentrich and Rob Bironas hang out, pregame.

Michael Griffin, checking out the turf, pregame. #33 snagged two interceptions. Matt Schaub didn't have a very good outing...three picks, three sacks, no TD's. Houston's fan-driven naval-introspection is prolly well underway by now.

Plenty of VY #10 jerseys on show. I asked a vendor if she would take a VY jersey in on trade. I was joking, of course.

Lendale White scores the first of 4 Titans TD's. This one in the 1st Quarter, after the Texans took a 3-0 lead (after Kerry Collins' first play from scrimmage was an interception. There were no boos. But, we won't speak of that again. We won't need to. )

This wasn't a TD, but it sure looks like one. Alge Crumpler almost caught a pass in the end zone. There was a penalty marker down too, but that wasn't the reason this was called back...an incomplete pass I think. Or maybe it was a penalty. There was a long, loud booing session later in the game, when the official(s) blew a call, allowing a Texan to step out of bounds and still keep going for massive yardage. Was that Ed Hochuli I wonder?

Ummmm..the Titans Cheerleaders do their Daisy Duke impersonation(s).

Lendale White gets his 2nd TD, about halfway through the 2nd Quarter. Right up the middle, downhill all the way.

Ahhh, the winning hairstyle of this game. And there were a couple good contenders.

Courtland Finnegan picks Matt Schaub and runs back 99 yards for the Titan's 4th TD. It was pretty much moot since it came at 1:17 left in the game, the Texans had pretty much already packed it in; but great for the stats. Icing on the cake.

But, we will miss Vince Young soon enough I think. Here's hoping he gets his head screwed on, and can lead this team.

Oh, my old tradition: a picture of a boat on the Cumberland river. A speedboat...gas not a problem, obviously. If he bought gas at the Commodore Yacht Club, he paid six bucks a gallon. At minimum.
