Yes, this game was hot, boring, miserable, HOT, sloppy, a parody of a season game; and did I mention that it was HOT? I sat through two preseason games...against the Redskins August 12, and vs. the Green Gay Packers August 30, neither game was as uncomfortable as this one. And I believe those games were better played, in those preseason matchups.

The east-side stands, facing the full unrelenting sun, were half-empty after halftime...the sun won that game, sending many fans to cooler areas. On the field, the heat-addled quarterbacks threw interception after interception...every QB who hit the field threw at least one. Vince Young threw three, and no TD's. Joey Harrington and Bryan Sand Leftwich threw one each. The contest was, 'who's going to lose?'

Kudos to the Titans D. If not for Big Al Haynesworth's crushing stop at the goal line, and Vince Fuller's pick that he ran back for a defensive TD, the Titans would've have managed to lose this game.

I'll tell you what, if the Titans don't hurry up and get it together for Tampa next weekend, and Houston the weekend after, then there will be two losses away. Against a team that wasn't DAWG damaged, we might suffer greatly.

On to the pics...did I mention I was desultory behind the lens? Not the half of it. Something about bright daytime sun that annoys a photographer.

One thing I didn't expect to see was Michael Vick jerseys. I didn't see many Falcons fans, period, for that matter. Those fans are keeping their heads down this season. Certainly not as well-traveled as Colts or Jags fans. These fans are evidently clueless...

Pregame was well-done, as usual. We had the Vanderbilt ROTC Color Guard, and a Ft. Campbell Paratrooper swooped in for a perfect glide-landing at midfield. I was more impressed with that than with the subsequent play on the the field...note as well the respect for the Flag afforded on touchdown. Those three soldiers made sure the flag didn't touch teh ground..

The first quarter was boring, except for Chris Brown's TD run. His only TD of the game.

OK, gotta wrap up this excessively long post. Vince Fuller runs back the go-ahead-to-win TD, a great defensive move, and the game's decisive play. Go-ahead and stay that way. The other pics...Did I mention it was HOT? The stadium lights were melting... ;D

Next home game...the Oakland Raiders, for Halloween. Should be some great pics to share after that one...
