Back to Windows Live Writer, to try to correct earlier misgivings.
Must.Not.Click.Through.
With Blogger, an image clicked gives (usually) a larger image, although not the same image that was uploaded. Things are changed. Normally that's no big deal, to a non-photo junky. I prefer to see what I uploaded, untouched. Not gonna happen, in Picasa, or Blogger, or....
Photobucket gives a much closer rendition to the actual image. Picasa via WLW is...well, here's the same picture I uploaded in this post. But this is fixed; you'll never get the large image no matter how long you click on it!
Another issue with WLW was the 'doubling-up' of images in the Picasa Album. Because I wanted the "drop-shadow" effect. I've killed that, so I should only get one image in the album.
So, let's see how this looks...
Engage
Well, that's an example of a WLW placekeeper photo, 670 x 343, at 110KB. A fraction of the 'real' thing. On the (non-click through) Picasa album, there's an option exists to download the photo.
It's not worth it. Right-clik and save; there's no reason to go for a click through because that image is the same...WYSIWYG.
Poor for photography uploads, WLW. Best to stick with Blogger, I suppose, or Photobucket for best quality...
I guess I'll continue to post my own photos via Blogger's interface, GIF's by Photobucket (Blogger kills the GIF animation) and use WLW for posting 'other people's images' (read: downloads or direct links to web images. Much as I did with the late, lamented Scribefire/Performancing...)
Hmmmm...I'll have to try a GIF file in WLW, now won't I?
