'Old Sparky' proves that Electrocution is still a viable method of Execution
Posted by kotang at 4:48 AMDon't spill any tears for Daryl Holton.
Holton was put to death for slaying his own children by lining them up two at a time and shooting them with an SKS rifle in the same Bedford County garage where he worked. He killed Stephen Edward Holton, 12, Brent Holton, 10, Eric Holton, 6 and Kayla Marie Holton, 4 on November 30, 1997 after an outing that included a trip to McDonald’s and a stop at an arcade. If you have to grieve, grieve for the 4 children he executed.
Holton gave up his appeals. Holton decided he wanted to die by electrocution, probably to garner some sympathy from the libs, and maybe a last minute reprieve. This is reminiscent of John Albert Taylor, who chose the firing squad in Utah “because it would be awkward” for the State. Little did he know that Utah didn’t care about mind games; he got shot.
Grieve? Me? Nah, I won't grieve for Holton. He did it, we did it, we move on.
“Ladies and gentlemen, this concludes the legal execution of Daryl Holton. Time of death was 1:25 a.m. Please exit,”What's next for Holton? He's in his eternity of…who knows? Maybe just the blackness atheists hope and pray for, maybe the fiery hell of medieval Christianity, but certainly some sort of meet up with a greater-than-us.
Or maybe he’ll reincarnate as…an electric eel...
I'm in the mood for some music. Here's a live version of Deep Purple's Smoke on the Water...love it!
