Still Kickin'...but possibly from his deathbed, Fidel Castro is heaping praise on former Democratic Presidents, and wants to see more Democrats in office. Why not? Their politics are similar, at the guttural level.

• Democratic President Bill Clinton shook Castro's hand in 2000 at the United Nations, and gave Castro a political victory by handing over Elian Gonzalez (using Janet Reno's elite police forces to seize the child from his relatives in Miami).

• Democrat Jimmy Carter was Castro's favorite US President; since he wasn't an "accomplice" of longstanding US policy to kick Castro out. Well, Jimmy Carter didn't do much that was designed to stretch or strengthen any existing US foreign policy. You can argue that Jhimmy was the closest to useless a US President's ever been, in my lifetime, and was responsible for allowing the upsurge in Islamic Fundamentalism with the revolution in Iran, and his inaction on the Hostage Crisis in Iran eventually led to our problems today. I was born during the Eisenhower administration, the administration that severed ties with Cuba's Castro. Eisenhower was a Republican...

Castro didn't mention by name Democrat John F. Kennedy (who, today, wouldn't be considered a Democrat, at all) nor Republican Great Ronald Reagan (who whipped more Communists than any Democrat in history.)
