John "HAIR" Edwards begs for Mo' Money, after finding a "Phrase that Pays" in the YouTube Debates
Posted by kotang at 7:26 PMI missed the debates, last night. Something about these 60-hour weeks...but, that's Capitalism, and I wouldn't trade if for any Democrat's 'world plans for undermining our way of life', for anything.
So, tonight I check my email box, and here's another tear-dripping letter from John Edward's campaign, some wag named Joe Trippi, asking for mo' money. What, Ann Coulter b*tch slap John again? No, this time he feels he's come up with the Phrase that Pays: "real change, big change, bold change...we can't trade our insiders for their insiders." That's...deep, John. You really curl my cowlick with that one...
John, via Joe, writes his Talking Points in bullet form for my perusal...
Taking on the Insurance Companies... Universal Health Care is a carrot that, once reached, turns into a rotten tomato. There's no country using UHC that we want to emulate: Canada, where UHC is proven to have excessive wait times for specialized care; France, closest thing to socialism that isn't called communism; and Cuba, where Michael Moore goes for health care, but Castro leaves town for his surgeries...and even if the health care were remarkable, how does one enjoy the ride in the '52 Ambulances that Cuba relies on? Cuba's a sham, a country just waiting for Castro to die, so it can (finally) embrace the modern world.
Taking on the Oil Industry...end Global Warming That's good, John. We're already dipping deeply into the Oil that is on this planet for the benefit of...everyone, right? We've used more than any other nation, and have a lot to show for it. We do have to start some conservation and find a replacement energy source, but for now, Oil is King. Our way of life and economy depend on the free-flow of Oil, and don't tell me that you, John, Silky Pony, are going to be the Leader who Shuts Off the Spigot to our economy. I have no faith that you, John Edwards, could lead anyone through a tour of you mansion without getting lost, much less lead a divided nation in a direction that is going to hurt, short-term. Sure, we have to really get busy and start some painful cuts. At least Bush is strong-willed enough to stay the course he's set, in Iraq, without falling prey to the sharkfest swirling around him. You, John, don't have enough Ass or Character to show a strong lead. Taking on the Oil Industry? Ha! You can't even argue points with Ann Coulter. Without, of course, your wife to help out.
Next, John Edwards updates his Enemies List: ...the Powerful who care about nothing but profits... John, are you talking about the wealthy who employ the 'middle class and the poor', who take the risks and pay the taxes, who keep the economy strong with their visions and capital? Would you like to tear all of those down, and replace them with...WHO, John? More powerful types, of your choosing, who would then do...what, John? Continue on with profits, and greed, to employ the middle class and poor peoples, and continue to pay excessive taxes to Government? Something tells me I wouldn't care much for your choice of "Powerful" people, John. Especially if you were one of them...
..returning our Government...to the people John, we don't have a Democracy. We have a Representative (Aristocratic) Democracy, where the usual suspects voted into office are groomed and tailored for those offices, most of whom are very wealthy and if they aren't, become so when they get voted a little power. Lawyers are overrepresented in elected offices, as are the Born Rich with Names that Matter...Bushes, Kennedys, those types. The people, John, have very little say and we have less power than we should. Sure, we need more representation, but not the kind you want, John; you, a smooth-talking lawyer with a nice haircut who can Speak to Poverty from the steps of his Mansion. John, you wouldn't, and couldn't, stand up very well to the world's cutthroat leaders; much like Carter, you would fold you hand and go home, with a sad look on your face. You couldn't even stand up to Ann Coulter, and you think Ahmadinejad is gonna be easier on you?
I missed the debates, but from the little I've read and heard, Obama is strong. Hillary is Shrill. And Edwards, time to pack you bags...you're VP, again, at best. A pretty face, but no substance.

OK, let's look at John's priorities: 'Ending the war in Iraq' At what cost, John? Give up and leave, leave our responsibilities to the Iraqi Government, to the Middle East region, to our allies, just to quieten some of the farthest kook-left wingers, who've been worked into a frenzy by the Democratic politicians who are driven to win office at any cost, and try to do so by attacking Bush by rote and habit; getting feedback from the Nutroots at Kos and even farther 'out there' left-wing extremists, aided by the Main Stream Media's 'Bad News Sells' policies and left-wing biases (when they take time off from covering their Hollyweird Lindsay Lohan-Paris Hilton et al celebrity narcissism fests)... John, your desire to end the Iraqi war is driven not by your studied and correct analysis of what might happen if we don't finish the job correctly, but by Bush Derangement Syndrome and your own desires for More Office...and, as a result, you've allied yourself with Iran and Syria, who sit back and await their prize. Iraq, the best real estate in the Middle East, you would give away without a care, to advance your...cause.
- Ending the war in Iraq.
- Taking on the insurance companies and HMOs to fight for universal health care.
- Taking on the oil industry and fundamentally changing our energy policies to end global warming.
- Taking on the powerful who care about nothing but profits and greed at the expense of working people, the middle class and the poor.
- And returning our government of the people to the people.
