There's no Pope who leads evangelical and fundamentalist Christians; no black or white smoke will be issuing from a secret chamber to indicate a successor to Jerry Falwell. I doubt that there's anyone who could step into his shoes and lead or energize Fundamental Christians, in the way Jerry did in the late '70's and '80's. Jerry's legacy is Ronald Reagan, and the political awakening of "The Moral Majority".



Now, the Moral Majority's look is that of swiss cheese. Every year, it seems, some facet of fundamental Christian belief is overcome or diminished by new secular advances: either a 'Politically Correct', but Religiously Incorrect behavior is found to be acceptable to more and more ordinary people, weakening our formerly bedrock moral structures and proscribing new 'rights and laws' for people who have lost their moral and ethical compass (Homosexuality comes immediately to mind) or, some new 'reading' of the Constitution (a living document?) that the Left leverages into new memes that reduce the impact of Religion (and therefore, Morality) in our society and Government (the war on prayer and religious symbols in schools and quasi-government institutions, even the banning of Christmas Trees in airports, or the Ten Commandments in courthouses).



Yea, for the folly of the left, we are left with little hope for the future, and less and less moral behavior as people flock to 'easier', more hedonistic, secular lifestyles.
