"It's like Fall, in the Spring"...comment from a fisherman on the Harpeth River

HWY 49 Bridge, over the Harpeth River
Finally hit the water yesterday, a run from Brush Creek on the Cumberland river to the Cheatam Lake Dam, then into the Harpeth River, with a side view of the new poorly-named "Harpeth Shoals Marina".
The recent late frost killed a lot of leaves, giving many trees with that 'Fall' look.
Middle Tennessee's trees were just getting started with new growth, the young leaves weren't hardy enough to survive the killing frosts.

So, what's up with the new Harpeth Shoals Marina? The've put in docks, and have some concrete piled into what's going to be a luxury resort on the Cumberland River. They are located several miles, I might add, upstream from the Harpeth River; thank God. They are also on the East Bank of the Cumberland, the Harpeth dumps from the west. So, no 'Shoals' from the Harpeth are anywhere near them. They are within spitting distance of the Ashland City Bridge over the Cumberland River. But, "Ashland City Marina, Clusterf**king the Views for Miles Around" wasn't going to work for them, I guess...
I think they have "Brentwood Envy" (you know, when areas miles from Brentwood start naming themselves 'Brentwood this' or 'Brenwood that', and really you are in Nolensville, or more properly, Proto-Antioch. Hmmmph.
The new docks at the Cumberland River Marina...
Out of there, breaking in the new 'harbor'....
The water could have been a tad warmer...that's ok, it will be later on. Al Gore promises that...
;D
