I haven't posted anything NFL or Titans in a while, since Vince Young shlepped his way through the Pro Bowl (actually, given the final score, that was probably watchable; more so for me than any event on TV or in an arena, involving Ice and Sticks).
Now, it should be still too early in the offseason for me to pay attention to anything NFL other than the occasional idle Rumor Mill posting...until the Scion of the Titans again picks up where he left off, troubling the Titans Organization and the expectant fans who, given the Bright Light at the End of the Tunnel who is Vince Young, be seeing only good news from the Titans in 2007. But, like clockwork, the troubled youth with too much free time and cash makes the news...
That's right, Pac Man is in Trouble Again.
OK, quickly catching up, to this date: Pac Man Jones goes off to Las Vegas, where the NBA was hiving to do their own version of Pro Bowl. Pac, and his entourage, enter a Church Strip Club, where Pac decides to stage an 'amateur ball' of his own creation, by throwing a sackful of folding cash onto the stage; the idea being that the dancers, on cue, would retrieve the money in some kind of kinky way that Pac wants to see.
However, one young lady gets ahead of herself, and starts grabbing the bills too soon (Pac, these girls aren't used to seeing money thrown about; they aren't expecting sacks full of dollars, and some people don't have your self-control when money is spread around like...ahhh, nevermind). So Pac grabs the fastest-moving nekkid lady by her tresses and bangs her head on the stage floor. (Now, none of this is on video, but the reports are coming in from everywhere, and something of the sort happened).
In the ensuing meelee, Pac may or may not have engorged on the ankle of a patron (what is it with Pac and his oral cavity? He's either spitting or biting or running his mouth), and when he spits out pieces of sock, he then threatens to kill a guard dude. He leaves the club (hopefully with the assist of a large Python Boot in his nether quarters) and...
"Robert Susnar, co-owner of the Minxx Gentleman’s Club, said in Wednesday’s edition of the Las Vegas Review-Journal and later on Nashville radio station WGFX-FM 104.5 that a man seated next to Jones in the club shot three people, including two of his security guards. One of those, Tom Urbanski, is still in a Las Vegas hospital and is reported to be paralyzed from the waist down as a result of the gunshots in the incident that occurred early Monday.(Emboldenings mine...This from the City Paper's Terry McCormick.)
“Tom is the only breadwinner for his family, and one of those shots severed his spinal cord, and he’ll never walk again,” Susnar said in the radio interview. “I don’t know exactly which part of the evening, it’s just hard to stomach this, after you have to sit there and watch his father cry, his wife cry and know that they have no way of supporting themselves, all because some athlete acting like a spoiled child in our club and some wannabe — actually not wannabe gangster, I’m gonna say gangster, so congratulations, he has elevated himself to gangster status.”
I've already posted in the comments section there, and will put it up here to save myself some time...
By: serr8d on 02-22-2007(What's up with the "¶", you ask? Long story: some punk-ass low-level hackers tried to subvert the Nashville City Paper's editor's wishes, last May, he then yanked the opinions section, and when it came back, he issued quill pens and scrolls (no, bad analogy, because even with those tools one could
I've not said much about this, kind of hoping that it would amount to nothing. But, if anything, the evidence gets more ominious and damning every day. ¶ Now, I'm so sick of hearing about PacMan and his escapades that I hope to see Bud Adams himself fly to Nashville, hold a press conference, and bar Pac from ever flying Titans colors again. ¶ Of course, such a dramatic scenario won't happen, because of the costly legal machinations that have to take place; those things that Must Be Done before any trully satisfying finish. Even Bud is manacled by his lawyers and league rules. ¶ And while these endless processes go on, the Titans Organization is dragged by association through this filth, people out of nowhere sound off with clownish opinions that brush the entire team with Pacspittle...somewhere, Floyd Reese (who will turn out, I believe, to the be 'bad guy' for drafting Pac instead of Antrel Rolle) is giggling uncontrollably. ¶ Even if this turns out to have nothing to do with Pac (doesn't seem to be going in that direction), I'm not going to be able to watch him race down the field with a return without thinking of a guy sitting in a wheelchair, unable to even stand up ever again, because Pac was catalyst to another bad scene. ¶ I think it's time to stop putting quarters into this video game...

With the current software realization going on at CityPaper, even a cave man could express himself better...I had better moves on a Commodore 64, 22 years ago...time to revamp the Expression Engine, Clint Brewer.)
Anyways, PacMan should, for the good of the team, be booted forthwith, as soon as we are able to get the legal work done.
It's time to stop putting quarters into this video game...
