Oh, boy, here we have the crew of the doomed...taking the US down, a little at a time. Our Democratically-controlled Congress won their backstabbing vote, but the Senate didn't go along (even though 7 Republicans jumped ship, the vote was 56-34 (60 votes were needed to pass)...we'll remember those 7 Republicans, won't we?

Senators John W. Warner of Virginia, Arlen Specter of Pennsylvania, Chuck Hagel of Nebraska, Gordon H. Smith of Oregon, Norm Coleman of Minnesota, and Olympia J. Snowe and Susan Collins, both of Maine.

Hmmmph. It's amazing that we have, in our country's leadership, those who even consider putting our troops in harm's way by emboldening the enemy. Have they not seen al Sadr tuck tail and run for the border? The troop surge is sending militant islamicists packing. Attacks in Baghdad were down, read it here, from Baghdad...until today, when bombs again struck three targets.

Expectations are high that we see some improvement, after the troop surge is fully implemented. But we have to implement it first, before we give up and call it quits. I fully expect this thing to improve, as we change tactics and put the clamps on Baghdad's insurgent population...allowing the tired citizens to rebuild their city.

This is our last best chance to win this thing. Get behind the troops, and the surge, and get it done. We can, and must, knock this one out of the park.
