Has a pall been cast over Houston? Texans Fans vent on John McClain's blog...I've snagged this pic from there...
We feel your pain, Houston fans. Remember, Steve McNair came home and kicked us up pretty good, too...
It's a twofer over the Texans again this season. But they will get a better draft pick again this year! (groan...)
Here's the first victory over the Texans.
I can't stand hearing the "P" word. That's just a little far to go for a team less than .500 and only 3 games to go. Too many variables in that equation. Just focus on staying healthy for the rest of the year, spend some that 34 million in cap room and 11 or so draft picks, re-sign Jeff Fisher, show Floyd Reese the door, and make glorious next season for benefit of Tennessee Titans.

I LOVE IT!!!!!!! All season long we have had to listen to all the haters spew their negativity!! Today, none of the regulars are here(except for chuck)!! They are still crying over precious Peyton getting beat twice in a row & realizing that VY is the next dominate QB of the AFC South!!!!

I'll leave you with this post from McClain's blog, an idea of how different two cities can be on a Monday:
One (the only?) nice thing is that every touchdown VY scores is one more nail in the coffin that holds Charlie Casserly's chances of getting another GM job.
And every come-from-behind win that VY engineers adds another ten feet to how deep that coffin is buried.
And Charlie can't spin that.

RICO ON THE RUN
Titans quarterback Vince Young (a/k/a Uncle Rico) showed his hometown fans in Houston what he can do in the NFL by beating the Texans at Reliant Field on Sunday.
And Rico capped off the win with a 39-yard touchdown run out of shotgun formation in overtime, catapulting the Titans to a 26-20 victory.
Though the play wasn't as exciting as Michael Vick's overtime touchdown run from four years ago against a Vikings defense that looked more like the Keystone cops than an actual professional football team, it was the crowning moment of a Tennessee Trifecta that featured the Titans coming from 21 down to beat the Giants, from 14 down to beat the Colts, and from eight behind to beat the Texans.
The Titans are now 6-7.
The Texans took plenty of flak in Houston for passing on Young and selecting North Carolina State defensive end Mario Williams with the first pick in the 2006 draft. With Young landing in the same division two spots later, we've got a feeling that the Houston fans will be seeing this kind of stuff from Young every year for the next decade or so, if not longer.
If you paid the miserable guy a bit more pittance, he might give up some linkage for you...

Dr. Z has the Titans moving up his weekly rating chart.
John McClain is trying to keep Fans onboard the Texan iceberg (which is melting faster than President Bush's support inside the Beltway) before ship Vince Young arrives today at noon. Will the collision be a Titan's disaster, or will the good ship captained by Jeff Fisher be an icebreaker? (As of now, John's Blog has 265 comments, a monster). Jim Wyatt at the Pravda has an article today on the Young/Houston split. (Yesterday, Larry Woody teased the morons at fire coach fisher dot com (no link here, buddy) on their spectacular flop).

The lead-up to the Texans/Titans match this Sunday Dec. 10 is getting pretty nassty, at least in Houston...John McClain has stirred up the entire Texan Nation, it seems, with his well-written blog entry.
Now wait a minute, John, we're packing 'em in like sardines as it is! We really don't need any new developments, or we will start to look like...well, Houston.
This is a gem, and the Truth. John McClain, on Bud Adams:
Revenge is a dish best served cold...in that case, they should be playing here this weekend, and not in Houston, because right now it's COLD here!
Here's a video (since YouTube got slapped by the NFL for allowing film clips to be posted, I don't know how long it will last...) This video includes some of VY's escapes and exploits from the last couple games, set against ESPN's Merril Hoge's comments about Vince Young's worthlesness...
"By the way, most of us wanted them to draft Vince Young, but we're over it. You should get over it, too. You can't change the mistake the Texans made." "If you can't get over it, and you hope the Texans lose, well, Nashville is a fabulous city, just like Houston. There are lots of good jobs and terrific neighborhoods. The fans are great, too. You'll fit in well."

" Here's what happened with Bud Adams and the Oilers. I covered them every day during the process that sent them packing. The Budster asked for $186 million in public money to build a new stadium. He offered to pay for a portion of the new stadium. City leaders said no. Nashville's leaders said yes.
Bud didn't want to move, but the Astrodome was a dump, and everyone knew it. But fans, including local politicians, let their hatred of Adams get in the way of logical thinking. We never got a referendum to vote on a new stadium for the Oilers like we did the Astros, Rockets and Texans. It cost us hundreds of millions more to get the Texans than it would have cost to keep the Oilers. I truly believe that most of us football fans in Houston think it was worth it.
We got the stadium Bud wanted. Now Bud has the quarterback most of us wanted.
On draft day, Bud said, "VY is my guy." And he is. Vince Young is Bud Adams' revenge on Houston for turning its back on him.
