Update 10/6/06 7:58 PM
Jeff Fisher is hinting at cutting ties with Haynesworth...permanently. The resounding chorus of 'FIRE THE SUM BUCK' has obviously made an impression on Jeff and the Titans organization.
It's the right thing to do: Fire the SB. He can't really make enough amends to overcome the hole he's dug for himself. Can't you imagine the immediate and ongoing distraction he would provide to the team, week after week, if he returned? If you think T.O. was ostracized, and media swarmed, that spectacle would be nothing to the one where Albert Haynesworth lines up across from another team week after week, and has to endure the endless taunts and jabs from opposing players...and can his own team ever trust him again? After all, he's attacked them too...
Update 10/3/06 8:36 PM
There's a new site in town, Keep Coach Fisher dot com. This site is in response to the 'fire' site I referenced in an earlier post (I won't bother to re-link the stupid thing).
Keep Coach Fisher is a vibrant, well-put-together site with an excellent Flash intro. Good job, webmasters~!
Give them a visit, and sign the petition to Keep the Coach (if he wants to stay, given the nonsense that's going on here now...if he thrives in challenges, then by Gawd he's gonna grow six inches...)
Other news: Haynesworth didn't catch a plane to New York to try to fight his 5-game suspension.
There may well be a civil lawsuit by Gurode, he has a two-year window to pursue this in court. (per PFT)

There is a groundswell to FIRE THE SON OF A BITCH, but there are a lot of people who needs firing, and somehow seem to avoid it. League suspends Haynesworth for 5 games. Is Suspension Without Pay enough of a punishment? Only if he can avoid having a recurrance of his threatening ways. He just needs to get some type of help, either anger management, or maybe he needs some strong ass kicking...that may be just the key.
The Cowboys will be happy to oblige...

10/2/06
Vince Young's debut was overshadowed by the debut ot "Heinous Haynesworth, the Face Stomper".
This might very well be the Iceberg for the Titans Management. How can this team ever come out of the dark, League-wide malaise that is cast on us now? Only by losing both of the Front Office faces: Reese and Fisher. I know, I've posted that Fisher is good enough to stick around, that Reese is the culprit for the losses for his sorry cap management. But now, everything's changed.
This is going to take a complete scrub job. New General Manger, New Coach, and plenty of Lysol.
From out of nowhere, this maniacal, repugnant goon has thrown the entire NFL League, and fans everywhere, into an uproar. This even made the Drudge Report! To stomp an unprotected head, twice, requiring 30 stitches...Haynesworth should have been carted off to Night Court, and I'm disappointed that he wasn't.
If Haynesworth ever puts on a Titans uniform (or any other team's) after this, I'll be surprised...
If you think Dallas fans hated T.O. for stomping on the Star, what do you think they will give the Titans when they go to Texas Stadium? Haynesworth should never visit Dallas, without an armed escort...
Background: From Mike Florio (profootballtalk.com); Mike doesn't have links to each post, for whatever reason. I'll have to quote:
"For those of you who missed it, Titans defensive tackle Albert Haynesworth stomped on the face of Cowboys center Andre Gurode, opening a gash that per published reports required 30 stitches to close. We've finally seen the entire video -- despite reports that Gurode's helmet came off, it's clear the Haynesworth had a role in forcibly removing it. And then Haynesworth put his cleats on Gurode's head not once but twice."
"It's possible that Gurode had been holding Haynesworth all afternoon or, as we've heard about other centers, grabbing Haynesworth's frank and beans during and/or after plays. Regardless, Haynesworth's actions were beyond anything that should occur on a football field, and he should be prosecuted to the full extent of the law...."
"FIRE THE SON OF A BITCH."
"How many of us would still be employed after engaging in "barbaric" acts in the workplace? And what's up with the source's presumption that they only prosecute sports goons in Canada? Haynesworth committed a criminal act, and should be punished for it accordingly."
This is the broadcast video of the now-infamous incident October 1. I hope this doesn't overshadow the "Music City Miracle" in our city's NFL History!
Here we go again: the NFL bitch slapped YouTube, and YouTube had to yank any content that was NFL-related. May a pox inhabit all of the owners of NFL teams' undershorts, and they scratch at invisible fleas forever....
