Boring. BHO's hand motions were effeminate. NTTAWWT.
This was no repeat of the Tucson speech. Who will remember even a line of it, in six months?
If Obama really wants to improve government, he'll force-shrink it. Shrink it considerably, to the level of pain to government-employed bureaucrats, many of whom need to be turned out to street level.
And if Obama were serious about downsizing government, he would work to kill the SEIU. Why should government employees be allowed to unionize, anyway? There's no need for it; the SEIU's purpose is to ensure that Democrats have control of all levels of government, of the bureaucracy, since all Union leadership and many Union members are Democrats. Even if individual SEIU members were not Democrats, they are still forced to give their union dues to Democrats. So, kill the SEIU, restore hard work to government.
Will Obama's core support team of Democrat Congessperps who are lawyers first allow any real tort reform? Fat chance. Democrats had a chance to add that to the 2700 pages of health care legislation they rammed down our throats, but didn't. That was tossed out there as a throwaway remark, to be quickly forgotten. As was the majority of this speech.
Loved how the Chiefs of Staff stood stoically, without expression. No gaiety there.
There was absolutely no mention of gun control. Goes to show that even Democrats can be trained.
Best part of watching this speech? Not seeing Nancy Pelosi bobbing and swooning on Obama's backside.
Afterward, ABC was quickly swooning over the mingling and the 'atmosphere'. As if any of these elected guys and gals won't be back at each other's throats in less than a month. As they were during the previous years, when Democrats controlled both houses, and felt a need for comity was unnecessary. Lose an election, now they want to play nice, huh? Heh.
Obama's picked up a few points in the polls (the 'Jared Bounce') but that'll level off soon enough. We're in for a long, hot summer, if this new Congress does as we've told them to do.
Oh, speaking of the new Congress, it seems that there is an adult in Washington!

State of the Union: Obama will fake a shift to center, MSM first to fall for it.

For one, the economy is still (and likely will still be) in the crapper.
We in business are still firmly asking, 'WHO IS JOHN GALT ?' because we know that Democrats are uncivil to businesses and to those who work hard to get ahead and move this country forward. Democrats see only two ways to get their ideologically-left-based agenda moved forward: to raise taxes and to spend more Other People's Money on programs and entitlements that assure them the Moocher votes they need to stay in power.
Add to the mix heinous regulations and unthinking policies that makes Democrats 'feel good' about helping the 'environment' and 'cooling' the globe. The only thing that excessive regulations will 'cool' is our economy; already as close to death as Deadfish Rham Emanuel's chances to become Emperor of Chicago.
Expect BHO to use the Tucson madman's shootings to utmost advantage. He'll milk that for every ounce of Democrat Agenda he can, speaking to new Gun Control, against 'vitriolic' speech; he'll urge implementation of 'civility' as a form of censorship. Can't let this event go to waste.
The Tucson shootings were the best event to happen to Obama's Presidency this year, bar none; it was the 'Oklahoma City Bombing' event that the Democrats needed to get their withered agenda back on track. And they will ride it until it doesn't ride anymore.
Did you notice that Gabrielle Giffords' husband refused an invitation to sit in with Democrats at the SOtU speech tonight? I think that man knows he was slated to be used as a pawn, and declined. A shame the rest of those invited and who accepted didn't realize their roles; or, more likely, they gladly embraced them, partisan as they are.
Why no SOtU invite for hyperpartisan Eric 'You're DEAD!' Fuller, Democrats? Seems Barack Obama could really do some good if he could persuade the likes of Eric Fuller to drop his invective vitriolic beliefs, to become more 'civil'. Why not make Eric Fuller the new poster child for a remarkable turnaround, a vaccine against vitriol so to speak, for 'civility'? Give Fuller some hands-on treatment, to persuade him to place nice. Give him a 'Civility Shot'.
If it works on Fuller, then they can give it to Markos Moulitsas, Arianna Huffington, Eric Boehlert at Media Matters...some of the worst, most uncivil ideologue offenders; all tools of the Left.
But to throttle back the Left is not the reason we have this newly minted 'Push for Civility'. That's only created for control of the Tea Party, the Conservatives, any who oppose the favored ideology of the Left. Any other use is contraindicated.
Is history doomed to repeat itself? Maybe not, at least not for the same reasons Dirty Bill Clinton won re-election.Obama Fakes Right
The country will be treated to yet another orgasmic reaction by the once-mainstream media upon the conclusion of President Obama's State of the Union speech. On the right, pundits such as Peggy Noonan are swooning once again and offering advice to the president on how to follow in the footsteps of Bill Clinton and move to the right with facile rhetoric and symbolic actions.
The majority of the current Ruling Class will fall prey to the Obama cult of personality, as they will measure success not by what he does, but by how he says almost anything. The media elites, living in a fantasy world wherein they choose which history will be repeated, will in fact move heaven and earth to assure that Obama will be reelected as was Bill Clinton in 1996.

Obama's SOTU Speech Reactives: Sub-Vocalized Voices, Dismissive Glances and Other Responses
0 comments Posted by kotang at 5:34 AMThis direct statement, issued by Democrat Ike Skelton (D, MO), chairman of the powerful House Armed Services Committee, before Obama had finished his address...
NOT TRUE replaces YOU LIE!
Very noticeable and much more significant was Supreme Court Judge Robert Alito's reaction, as seen in this composite photo from the video below...
As reported by AP, and seen in this video...
Obama had it coming: there is a separation of powers, and he should not have run his piehole about a Supreme Court decision. Good for Justice Alito! A good man, there.
Did Obama tell much truth? A fact-check article written by Calvin Woodward finds some truth-stretching and avoidance, including
And Nancy Pelosi?
Worshipful, awestruck gazes. Just, wow.
This President doesn't need an intern to bring the pizza. Just send for Nancy, and close the doors.

"Somewhere along the line, the White House lost its way,"Ouch, and without a band-aid.
"Instead of focusing on solutions to help America's families wade through the wreckage of the worst economic crisis since the 1930s, Washington has wasted valuable time wrestling with partisan politics in an effort to rush through drastic reforms that do not directly address our most immediate needs."

WASHINGTON -- The man in the House chamber openly disagreeing with President Barack Obama as he spoke to Congress wasn't an over-the-top Republican or a seething Democrat. He was a Supreme Court justice, Samuel Alito.I would've preferred another resounding "YOU LIE!", but Joe Wilson was "stonefaced" during this speech.
Obama had taken the unusual step of scolding the high court in his State of the Union address Wednesday. "With all due deference to the separation of powers," he began, the court last week "reversed a century of law that I believe will open the floodgates for special interests -- including foreign corporations -- to spend without limit in our elections."
Alito made a dismissive face, shook his head repeatedly and appeared to mouth the words "not true" or possibly "simply not true."

Did Obama tell much truth? A fact-check article written by Calvin Woodward finds some truth-stretching and avoidance, including
- Obama's proposed three-year 'government spending freeze' would only save less than 1% of the deficit. He's proposed spending more than he'll ever save.
- His 'bipartisan special commission', denied by the Senate but created by his own executive order, won't have any effect. His executive order is 'toothless'.
- More unbelievable spins on his Health Care debacle. Obama's claims that we'll be able to keep our current doctors and plans doesn't mention that these plans, pinched by his newly-created taxes, would be free to limit services or 'pinch benefits'. Oh, and Medicare recipients (you old retired duffers) would find your benefits cut.
- Obama bashes lobbyists, but fails to bash his own lobbyists. He just hates organizations like the NRA (a collective of "Community Organized" citizens who would spend to stop Democrats) and others who exist to protect the Constitution, but lurvs him questionable lobbying organizations such as the SEIU and ACORN (collectives of "Community Organized" citizens who would spend much cash to elect more and more Democrats (the LOOTERS), who then push for more and more taxes to pay for handouts to their voting base (the MOOCHERS). No U.S. Constitution will be allowed to stand in the way.
- How many jobs created or saved, Mr. Prezzidint? YOU LIE! You've likely caused job loss; you can't prove otherwise. Unless of course you've hired more government employees (oh, and you have done that).
- Obama actually stood up there calling for 'more openness' ("to do our work openly, and to give our people the government they deserve.". This would've been perfect opportunity for anyone in the audience to scream "WHAT ABOUT THE C-SPAN CAMERAS IN THE HEALTH CARE DEBATE, MR. PREZZIDINT????///??" But, strangely, the crowd was silent.
And Nancy Pelosi?
Worshipful, awestruck gazes. Just, wow.
