I am stunned that the official White House Blog published this picture and that it is in the public domain. The body language is most revealing.

Sergeant Crowley, the sole class act in this trio, helps the handicapped Professor Gates down the stairs, while Barack Obama, heedless of the infirmities of his friend and fellow victim of self-defined racial profiling, strides ahead on his own. So who is compassionate? And who is so self-involved and arrogant that he is oblivious?

In my own dealings with the wealthy and powerful, I have always found that the way to quickly capture the moral essence of a person is to watch how they treat those who are less powerful. Do they understand that the others are also human beings with feelings? Especially when they think nobody is looking.

Dear Jim,

Would you be so kind as to mention the following to Mr. Gates and President Obama during your meeting with them:

One of the major problems stemming from the events of July 16 is that I, now known as 'the black Sergeant', have had my image plastered all over the Internet, television and newspapers. Subsequently, I have also become known, at least to some, as an 'Uncle Tom.'

I'm forced to ponder the notion that as a result of speaking the truth and coming to the defense of a friend and collegue, who just happens to be white, that I have somehow betrayed my heritage.

Please convey my concerns to the President that Mr. Gates' actions may have caused grave and potentially irreparable harm to the struggle for racial harmony in this country and perhaps throughout the world.

In closing, I would simply like to ask that Mr. Gates deeply reflect on the events that have unfolded since July 16 and ask himself the following questions:

'What can I do to help heal the rift caused by some of my actions?; What responsibility do I bear for what occurred on July 16, 2009? Is there anything I can do to mitigate the damage done to the reputations of two respected Police Officers?'

Talk about a set-up: the final question in Barack Obama's fourth Prime Time Press Conference (did you know that President Bush had only four Prime-time Press Conferences total in his 8 years in office?) featured an exercise in comedic relief* and, straying from his previously foppish and muddled answers on Health Care Reform (the so-called 'reason' for the presser in the first place) opened up the RACIST! AMERICA! IS RACIST! canard.

Professor Gates' arrest last week for 'accidentally' breaking into his own house (he somehow misplaced his keys and, after returning from China, had to 'jigger' his door lock; someone called the cops because, you know, it looked like the place was being burglarized. Then, Prof. Gates smart-assed the cop. That's a no-no, Prof, you should know better than to get smart with a cop.) unleashed a firestorm of racial angst. President Obama brought it to national attention last night, saying the Cambridge police acted 'stupidly' (what, for doing their jobs? For not accepting a smart-assed response to their legitimate concerns?) and that America was, yes, RACIST! .

Obama was smallified for saying that. He added further ignorance to what was already bogged down as a ruined press conference.

Prof. Gates is setting up for a monster lawsuit, following the proven tried-and-true course work defined for Leftist - Liberal - Progressive Victimology.

Next time you need to 'break in' to your own house, learned Professor Gates, buy and use a key hider. Or call your neighbor, with whom you might leave a spare key. Or something that bespeaks forethought. I'll bet if learned Prof. Gates had come home and found that his house had been burglarized, he'd have screamed FOUL! POLICE DIDN'T CARE IF A BLACK MAN'S HOUSE WAS ROBBED!, or some other police put-down. Because what this is is simply hating on the police.

What a maroon.

*Oh, the comedic relief. I watched the presser. Funniest moment: Obama said ‘jigger’. Talked of 'jiggering' the White House door. Then said he’d likely get shot, or something. Brought down the house.

Couldn’t save the presser, though. 54 minutes of spin; 1 minute of comedic relief.
