From my favorite morning turd, the New York Times, another turd speaks...
“It looks to me that we were easy enough to throw under a bus, and that’s where we landed,” said Eleanor Holmes Norton, Washington’s delegate in Congress.Yes, Elanor, you were tossed under a bus. But, since your parent(s) decided to allow you birth and childhood, what right do you have to complain at all? You weren't aborted; you live. Get over it.
If even a few children are born who otherwise might have been scissored, then all is good.
The use of federal money for abortions has been banned since 1976. The ban in Washington, sometimes referred to as the Dornan Amendment, goes even further, prohibiting the district from using its own money to pay for abortions for poor women. There should never be a 'free' abortion. Think about it; with 'free', government-sponsored abortions, there's no 'skin in the game' (other than that used as a moneymaker), therefore no out-of-pocket 'penalty' to careless, thoughtless sex. At least make the responsible 'parties' pay for their crime.
About 150,000 of the city’s poorest residents are on Medicaid, and just over half are women. They are overwhelmingly black and Latina. In the years that local money was banned, those women had to pay for abortions themselves, city officials said.

| "Code Pustulence" females join a smothered and covered scattering of "Manginas" to protest sensible abortion restrictions |
The New York Times unwittingly offers a suggestion that might save the aching souls of LeftLibProgg Code Pustulence gals and their pet manginas...
The sound and fury of last week’s budget debate came down to a dollar figure that some members of Congress could have covered by writing a personal check. That's 8 months of abortions that could easily be covered by some of the whining snivelers who support federal-funded abortions. Just line up, guys and gals, and write a check. Hell, we could have those infomercial TV ads, with photos of women who desperately need abortions, with a pleas to help to rid them of their unwanted child. Maybe we could get Lady GarGoyle or some other abortive 'star' to host these fund-raising infomercials, as Sally Struthers did for starving children.
Elective abortions for poor women in the District of Columbia — a central bargaining chip in the deal — have cost the city $62,300 since August, city officials say.
The lefty guy or gal who sends in a check to fund an abortion gets a free! Aborted Fetus in a Mason Jar, to put in his or her bedroom; a memento of the joyous occasion. Unlike starving children, they can't just sit down and write you a thank-you note.
You could start a collection! Get one of every color! (but the preponderance of abortions are for blacks; you'd likely have to pay for 10 or 12 random abortions before you could get a white child) and one of each sex! Better'n baseball cards, guys!
So, set down and write that check today!
