All of this Deb Frisch talk reminds me of this other naasty female who was seeking entry to my underground bunker. It's getting cool enough that these little beasts will seek comfort, coziness and any shelter you can provide. This gal was under a trash can.

Naaaaah. She suffered a crushing de'foot. Best for all concerned, really.

Previously, back in September 2006, another of my Black Widow spider photo posts, featuring a different species, the rare (for these parts) Redback Spider (Latrodectus hasselti). Looking  at this latest, there's some red on her back too, but not as much as the one from 2006. Maybe, finally, the redbacks are assimilating.

And in November 2008, a post featuring a Pie-Stealing Spider. Because of that famous, not-seen-since Black Widow dress.
