Photo from Los Angeles Times, where you'll find others.
Yes, Proposition 8 was repealed (7 million voters overturned by a little fudge packing cupcake) but this argument isn't over. The ruling by Judge Walker (who should've recused himself, being gay and obviously biased) was stayed until the appeals are heard. We've still to hear from the 9th Circuit jokers, then the trip to the Supreme Court, where there are still adults.
Walker is just another lefty Judge inventing – making – overturning laws to suit his party’s ideology. As this one goes, so goes the rest of the rules of Law, and so goes the pissed-in bowl of cornflakes that was once our Constitution...
'Marriage' is more a personal and religious bond than are 'Civil Unions' because marriage has as it's origin and is by definition ‘tainted’ by religion; religion has no place in legal governance or decisions (just ask your standard lefty). We should divorce the two; provide for Civil Unions for all who want them and leave the 'real' 'marriages' (known by use of the term 'marriage') for those who desire a more honorable Church-based, religious covenant. That way, everyone gets what they want: strange people who are attracted to the same-sex can have their house filled with legal documents declaring they get all the rights to whatever they want, and they can have their nice curtains. We who are more tuned to the spiritual can have 'marriage' left intact, and not be degraded by those 'others' who are but pretenders.
Let 'em have their legal papers forcing things that shouldn't be forced (ouch!). We'll keep our higher institution, MARRIAGE, sacred and intact.

Conservatives have long said that the day would come when liberal judges declare the Constitution unconstitutional. That happened today, when a gay federal judge in San Francisco, relying on the opinions of mostly-gay “expert” witnesses, ruled that an amendment to the California constitution, which was adopted in perfectly proper fashion by a substantial majority of voters, is “unconstitutional.” In this context, unconstitutional means “unpopular with me and my friends.”This ruling is not so much about gays having right (they can have 'Civil Unions' AFAIC) but about (1)redefining marriage as something gays can feel 'comfortable' with, since religious people usually don't cotton to same-sex unions and don't want to perform gay weddings) and (2)the increasing Left-Liberal attacks on religion, Christian religions in particular. They want religion diffused to the point that Government is their God and Statism their religion.
