Seriously, this is a disaster of great proportions. I 've friends who live near the fantastic Gulf Islands National Seashore, and Perdido Key (that link's a webcam) is my favorite gulf destination. This oil rig was state of the art, with triple redundancy against failures; we must first contain this mess if possible; determine what happened and why, how 11 people lost their lives, and work to prevent recurrences. What we should not do is run around screaming about raising taxes and shutting down all the oil derricks on our coastlines, stopping all oil production and driving our eggshell-fragile economy into further disrepair. Shit happens, fix it and move along.
Man up Obama. Take the blame, and don't use this as one of your patented "Rham Moments" to further far-left statist agendas.
