This is of some interest to me, because I want to reiterate my anti-birtherism stance.
Barack Obama was born in Hawaii; that's a fact that I've researched and have concluded is correct. The time's that's wasted by individuals who believe otherwise is approaching lunacy. Don't they realize that BHO is playing with them, like a cat with a herd of mice? Do they not realize what is the concept of 'programmed distraction'?
While I'm on this let's-get-this-straight-once-and-for-all kick, I want to point out that I did not trust Rand Paul, even before he was elected in the Republican primary in Kentucky, because I don't like batshit crazy Ron Paul. Sorry, but I haven't liked Ron Paul since, well, even before his campaign for the '08 Republican president nomination kicked off. I attacked him with much energy throughout that campaign season (just check my archives, under keyword 'Ron Paul', if you don't believe me) and mocked his supporters as 'Paulbots'. Nothing has changed, I still can't stand Ron Paul. Is his son too much like the father? So it might seem.
I've the same thoughts and disregard for that crazy loon Alex Jones. I can't stand Alex Jones. Like Ron Paul, he's just another batshit crazy loon who is nothing more than an Agent Provocateur who is spoiling the Tea Party. As for Rand Paul, he's just not polished enough, and it seems he might've spent too much time listening to dear old dad at Sunday dinners.
We should distance ourselves from the Paul brand; unlike the Democrats, who embrace their far-left batshit crazy loons «cough»Kucinich Obama Pelosi Reid«cough», we should push back against 'em while we can. Show 'em the door, thankyouverymuch.
All that said, we have another good win against the far-left Democrat Machine...
We, as The Opposition Party, must show that our way is better; we have to provide a distinct example of what should be obvious: we don't seek to control every aspect of people's lives, as the far-left desires. TSI nails it...

So, for now, we have that seat.Charles Djou Wins Hawaii Special Election
Honolulu City Councilman Charles Djou (R) won the special election in Hawaii's 1st district tonight. He took 39.5 percent of the vote to 31 percent for state Sen. Colleen Hanabusa and 28 percent for former Rep. Ed Case (D).
Obama carried the district 70% to 28% in 2008. Conventional wisdom holds that Djou will lose this seat in the fall when there won't be two Democratic candidates splitting the Democratic vote. But I wouldn't be so sure that Djou can't boost his share of the vote from 39.5% in a three-way race to 50.1% in a head-to-head match up. It's not clear that Hawaii Dems will easily unify behind one candidate (the primary is September 18). And Djou will have six months as an incumbent to get to know voters better. He's certainly an appealing candidate (see here).
We, as The Opposition Party, must show that our way is better; we have to provide a distinct example of what should be obvious: we don't seek to control every aspect of people's lives, as the far-left desires. TSI nails it...
However, it should be obvious to anyone who’s been paying attention that the larger objective of the Left has not been reform, but control – behavior control, mind control, finance control, health control, life control. If you’re Left, that means you’re smarter and better than everyone else, by definition. And if you’re smarter and better than everyone else, where else do you belong, but in the driver’s seat?Let's keep our noses clean, push back against the batshit crazy loons like the Pauls and the Joneses, and try to right this nation. Before it's too late to matter.
Control, and destruction. If your stint in university has led you to the conclusion that the bulk of our civilizational heritage is a crime and should be smashed, then a-smashing you will go, in one form or another. And think yourself a hero for doing it. Our old pal Richard Fernandez–Wretchard, of the Belmont Club blog–once said that “The greatest apostasy in Marxist literature has always been to find value in the present.” To which an unnamed Winds of Change blogger added: “Once our world was characterized by poverty and the leftist future held prosperity for all; but once capitalism has demonstrated the ability to provide, prosperity is itself reviled as an abomination. Now the Left prescribes a noble poverty as an ideal all will be made to aspire to (by any means necessary).” Achievement hating, soul-denying, life-stunting Leftism has nothing to offer ordinary people but ever sterner scourgings for sins sometimes real, most times imagined.
