Obama's photo there with Joe Biden, courtesy Glenn Reynolds via Jeff Goldstein, who blogs on yet another tired (but what else do they have, really?) attempt at raaaaacist! smearings against anyone criticizing (or even pointing and laughing) at Teh One...
Not to belabor what some people believe are trivial arguments about language, but here is another example of why it is so important both to understand and re-institutionalize certain truisms about how meaning is made, whose meaning we are privileging, and how interpretation works in the service of decoding meaning: Andrew Sullivan has essentially created his own text from a set of iconic signifiers, then attributed that text — his text — to “some people” who find the photo “damning” because “Obama is a black man who looks as if he is condescending to a white man.” And the “some people” in question just happen to be anti-Obama conservatives.
I'd hate to know what the Left would say about the "Shaved Ice" photo. I have yet to see that image posted anywhere else; I spotted it at the Charlotte Observer's Daily Edit upload stream (always a great spot to view current imagery). The photographer is obviously raaaaacist!, and likely a homophobe too. And he/she wasn't supposed to photograph Obama's right profile; the scar no one knows about isn't supposed to be made visible.

(You don't know how badly I wanted to pshop that photo of Barack Obama eating his shaved ice dessert whilst vacationing in Hawaii. The "Q" factor?   )
