Titans need to kick Vince Young off the bench and out onto the field, immediately if not sooner. Because we're cursed. Or something.
Posted by kotang at 6:50 PMOK, I give up. This season is a bust at 0-4 (we'll likely be 0-6 in two weeks, after next Sunday night's visit from Peyton Manning's Indianapolis squad, then a trip to Crazy Bradyville in New England...how'd we get so lucky, the two best AFC teams scheduled at the worst possible time? Not playing Denver this year, I'll guarantee that...)
In our AFC South division, Indy is a virtual lock to take it hands down...they are 4-0 and looking unbeatable; Texas is 2-2, as is Jacksonville. There's no digging out of this 0=4 hole, realistically. We're playing now for a high first-round draft pick. Florida's Tebow? Why not? We might need a QB because...
We have Vince Young malingering on the sidelines. Next year he's due a massive wad of cash; we have to know if he's worth it. Kerry Collins, bless his heart, just can't get any younger; what is he now, 37? He's no Brett Favre. But he did accomplish that surprising run to TD in 'garbage time' yesterday afternoon. I think he surprised even himself. But that's not sustainable.
Our defense as it plays now couldn't stop Vanderbilt. We lost defensive Coordinator Jim Schwartz to head coach the Lions (nice job there, Jim, you won a game!) and this new coordinator, Chuck Cecil (an ex-pro bowl safety from my alma mater, Arizona), is unimpressive. Sure, Big Al is gone, but remember, Jim Shwartz won defensive games without him on the field. There's a good possibility we'll see Jeff Fisher lighting a fire under Chuck (if he hasn't already) because there's an uncomfortable warm seat glowing under Fish himself right now. But that's not what I want to see...Jeff Fisher is better than any other coach we could possibly bring in. Includes Cowher, in my estimation.
Pre-emptive cry: Leave Fisher Alone!
So, we've a bust season. It's like we're cursed or something...
Dare I say it...the curse of Steve McNair... ?
