More, from PFT...
According to NewsChannel5.com in Nashville, long-time NFL quarterback Steve McNair has been found dead.

McNair reportedly suffered a gunshot wound in an apparent murder-suicide.

Further details currently are not available; check back for more developments.

He was a first-round pick of the Houston Oilers in 1995, and he played for the franchise through the 2005 season. McNair was then traded to the Ravens, and he spent two seasons in Baltimore before retiring.

UPDATE: The report from NewsChanel5.com has been revised to describe the situation as a "double homicide."
TitansOnline has more, including Bud Adam's statement.

I've heard rumors that the woman killed with Steve was his girlfriend. Steve was married...

This is terrible news for Titans fans everywhere. Steve played in games where most QB's couldn't get up off the bench, played in such pain that most men couldn't bear it. I've seen him take hits that would break lesser men, then get up and play some more.

RIP, Steve, you football warrior, father, and family man.

More, from Breitbart's first blurb...Floyd Reese on Steve...
"I am deeply saddened to learn of today's tragic news regarding the death of Steve McNair. He was a player who I admired a great deal," said New England Patriots senior football adviser Floyd Reese, who was GM of the Titans when McNair played there. "He was a tremendous leader and an absolute warrior. He felt like it was his responsibility to lead by working hard every day, no matter what.

"I don't think there was a player who played with him or against him that didn't look up to him and respect him," Reese said. "My heartfelt condolences go out to his family, his friends and the many teammates who loved and admired him."

Titans coach Jeff Fisher was out of the country, taking part in the first NFL-USO coaches tour to Iraq.

UPDATE:

The condo was rented by Wayne Neeley, a close friend of Steve's. Charlie Cardwell, Metro Trustee, owns that building. No word on who the female found dead with Steve is, but she also lived in that complex.

Steve McNair reportedly partied until after 1:00 AM this morning, at his restaurant. He left, and wound up at the condo. Whether or not Steve drove his black Lincoln Navigator to the condo is unknown.

The bodies were found at 1:30 PM. There's no time yet determined as to when the shootings occurred.

Police are at Steve's home, with his wife. No word on whether or not she is involved.
