Republican counter proposal to Obama's Health Care (Socialization, Nationalization) Plan: FINALLY!
Posted by kotang at 7:05 AMThe Coburn - Ryan "Patient's Choice Act" has provisions to improve the nation's health care coverage by not socializing and nationalizing the health care industry...
Good for them. Obama's coverage would add a trillion or so to the already unsustainable debt load we're (and our kids ) are carrying.
Americans are beginning to see Obama's 'National Health Care' plan, that monster of a new and unsustainable social program, as the flood of troubles it will become. Obama would nationalize health care and punish 'lawbreakers' (smokers, sugary doughnut and snack cake eaters, those evil sedentary couch potatoes, and don't forget alcohol consumers!) with specialized new taxes and fines (for the wicked lifestyles of which they disapprove). Oh, and a new and exciting VAT tax. You go, "I will not raise taxes! Period." Obama.
Some plans Democrats will meet with venom. Republicans want to limit the scope of medical lawsuits and the trial lawyer's huge profits from malpractice insurers (see: John Edwards + mansion). Obama was met with boos during his speech to the AMA, when he told doctors he wouldn't change or limit patient's ability to sue. Of course not! Obama won't do anything against Unions or Trial Lawyers; that's the Democrat's bread and butter donors. He'll protect his Party's political interests before he will do anything good for the country.
Here's the plan: call - contact your Reps and Senators and tell 'em you support the Coburn - Ryan plan(s); tell 'em to forget about socializing and nationalizing America's Health Care Industry; and tell 'em you want to see these trial lawyers out on the streets with tin cups.
It's the only way to be sure.

...is to leave in place the tax deduction companies receive for providing employees with health insurance and to create a "Medi-Choice" tax rebate that will give individuals $2,200 and families $5,700 to spend on health insurance. There's other plans and ideas various Republicans are discussing. Read at the link for more. The rebate will make health insurance more affordable, especially for young people. It also will make health insurance portable, which will free people from being locked into jobs they hate because they are afraid of losing their health insurance.
The Coburn-Ryan plan also helps the hard-to-insure and chronically ill because it shares their risk across all insurance companies, providing lower premiums than they might find now. It would help those in Medicaid because they receive private insurance rather than being forced into a one-size-fits-all government program in which doctors are increasingly refusing to participate.
