Israel is getting fed up with Iran's increasingly menacing progress in acquiring nuclear weaponry...

President Shimon Peres had some unusually aggressive words for Iran Sunday, seemingly threatening military action if US President Barack Obama's overtures to the Islamic republic fail to bear fruit.

Peres went on to say that he hoped Obama's call for dialogue with Ahmadinejad would be heeded, but warned that if such talks don't soften the Iranian president's approach "we'll strike him."

Of course Preseident Peres says he'll not do anything without the U.S.'s OK, but that may not be as big a factor as it once was. The U.S., under Barack Obama and weak progressives, is not the same nation who in the past could be counted on to support Israel in the trenches. President Peres talks the conciliatory tone for BHO's sake, but there are bared teeth in his words.

BHO, coming off a successful military victory over three Somali pirates, might be feeling his oats (unless it's waffle time again..). Maybe he'll send a positive signal to President Peres.

If he doesn't, well, he can get ready to watch the news reports coming in to the situation room. With a nice slice of St. Louis pizza, no doubt.
