Good for her! Carrie answered that flaming idiot Perez Hilton's question perfectly...

When asked by judge Perez Hilton, an openly gay gossip blogger, whether she believed in gay marriage, Miss California, Carrie Prejean, said "We live in a land where you can choose same-sex marriage or opposite. And you know what, I think in my country, in my family, I think that I believe that a marriage should be between a man and a woman. No offense to anybody out there, but that's how I was raised."
(Emphasis mine.) And she's not backing down, either; after the crown went to Miss North Carolina (Carrie Prejean is the first runner up) Carrie remarked...
It did cost me my crown,” Carrie told Billy, who co-hosted the ceremony, on Monday. “I wouldn’t have had it any other way. I said what I feel. I stated an opinion that was true to myself and that’s all I can do.

It is a very touchy subject and he is a homosexual and I see where he was coming from and I see the audience would’ve wanted me to be more politically correct,” she added. “But I was raised in a way that you can never compromise your beliefs and your opinions for anything.

As a spokesperson for conservatism, I would trade Meghan McCain for Carrie Prejean any day of the week, given Meghan is a soft 'Progressive Republican'.

And, to top it all (and really asplode some lefty heads) Carrie is a person of faith...
"I knew there were secular judges, but I felt I needed to express my passion for the Lord."
No wonder the left is ready to kill her.

One of the the biggest surprises for me is that someone this young and talented, and yet still be conservative, could hail from California. Who knew?
