Here's Obama's payoff to Hillary for her support. I had expected a Supreme Court appointment tossed her way, but given that Hillary couldn't even pass the D.C. Bar exam in the '70's (she did pass the bar in Arkansas, so the rest is history) that nomination would've given conservatives an opportunity to payback the leftists for their shredding of Robert Bork and Harriet Miers, and their trashing of Clarence Thomas during his nomination battle. I was looking forward to that hilarity.
This appointment is another sign that Baracky is backing off of his loud and overreaching campaign promises, and shows he's feeling the need for some strength in his foreign policy. I guess those CIA interviews left a mark. The fact that he, Obama, is now charged with our National Security, and that George Bush has kept us safe from attack for these 7.5 years, is beginning to sink in.
He could fail spectacularly if we were to suffer an attack because his of his lefty softness. Hillary, for all of her baggage, does have a thicker carapace when it comes to foreign policy issues...after all, she did vote to send troops to Iraq, even though she's squirming like a bug to dodge that fact.
Again, Hillary has huge shoes to fill. Condoleezza Rice, "Warrior Princess", has performed with dignity and aplomb; Hillary I expect will bring the buggage.
Look for some fireworks after the honeymoon. Hillary wanted the presidency; there's some underlying hostility, carefully repressed.
For now.
