"Was it a “passing of the torch” or just another anomaly in what is becoming a forgettable season for the Indianapolis Colts? Hard to say, but what is clear is that the Tennessee Titans have taken firm control of the AFC South and are well on their way to a division title, potentially rewarded with a first-round bye in the playoffs. This Titans team did what champions must be able to do, coming from behind in the second half against a perennial contender and withstanding the tide of emotion that ebbed and flowed throughout the 3rd & 4th quarters.

"Now at 7-0 the Titans are on a historical pace to win well over 10 and take control of the AFC.Whispers of an undefeated run are even popping up on talk shows & the Internet. But the 0 in 7-0 will soon take the shape of a bull’s eye, and there’s still a lot of football left to be played.The majority of my pregame evaluation centered on the comeback of Kerry Collins and the stifling defense of the Titans, against the sluggish output of a once “juggernaut” offense led by Peyton Manning. Tennessee makes opponents go the hard way."

I don't care so much for talk about 'undefeated seasons' or 'Superbowl runs'; such is talk bordering on nonsense. There's much football left to play, including four more home games. This Sunday, November 2, there's a home game against Green Bay, a team that handily defeated Indianapolis just a couple weeks ago. The Titans, on a short week, will have to play a team now gunning for the 'best in the NFL'...a nice bullseye.

Thanks, Mike and the rest, for that designation. But, after we demolished the Colts on Monday, what else could we expect?

So, a home game this weekend, at Noon, against Green Gay. Then, away games at Chicago (11/9) and Jacksonville (11/16) The Jacksonville game is set to start at Noon, but it's one of the NFL's flex schedule games...it may move to later. If the market warrants that.

Home again 11/23 for the New York Jets. Another Noon game, subject to flex scheduling.

Away for a Thanksgiving Day (11/27) Turkey shoot, on a four-day rest, at Detroit, at 11:30 AM. That's an injury-filled game, if we're not careful. That start time is not subject to flex scheduling.

Then, Cleveland comes to Nashville on 12/7, again a Noon game subject to flex, after ten days of rest..probably much needed.

To Houston, December 14, possibly flexed; then Pittsburgh, here on 12/21, again in flux, for the final home game.

Season ends in Indianapolis, where we'll find the Colts probably ready and eager to spoil something. Again, a game that may not start at Noon. Doesn't matter, at least in Peyton's house they will be warm. The way Peyton plays...coddled, you know. Keeps the whining down.

There's much football left, so word up: don't get the big heads. Stay away from the media. Watch your backs...there's sharp knives from here on out. And, listen to that guy in the spotlight, here...he's been there before.
