This, from the TimesonlineUK...
George Bush also plans to establish the only Arab democracy in the world. Check.
George Bush wants the Iraqi people to write their own constitution, and do that unusual thing called voting. Check.
George Bush's strategy is to draw al Qaeda into Iraq, to fight them 'over there' instead of 'over here', knowing that those stupid bastards would go to whatever means necessary to evict the 'Great Satan' from Iraq. Then, using our superior fighting forces, and the newly-trained Iraqi security forces, al-Qaeda would be summarily defeated. Check.
Here, at home, we have leftists protests, 'quagmire', and on and on to no end (everything but the kitchen sink thrown at George Bush, who basically ignored their petulant asses and continued on about his bidness) until this sweet victory. Check.
What we won't see is any jubilation or celebration by the Main Stream Media or the leftist-controlled House and Senate. Sort of a mumbling sound at best.
All we have to do now is wait for some time to pass, for all of these crybaby whiners to die off, and let history write about how George Bush did a great thing in Iraq, accomplishing all of his goals, establishing democracy in the middle east, and allowing the Iraqi people to self-govern for the first time in their history.
That's a check I'll never see, but I guarantee it'll happen. If not in American history books, then in Iraqi history books.
That's a wrap.
Let's see...George Bush invades Iraq, with the goal of upsetting and unseating Saddam Hussein. Check.Iraqis lead final purge of Al-Qaeda
American and Iraqi forces are driving Al-Qaeda in Iraq out of its last redoubt in the north of the country in the culmination of one of the most spectacular victories of the war on terror.
After being forced from its strongholds in the west and centre of Iraq in the past two years, Al-Qaeda’s dwindling band of fighters has made a defiant “last stand” in the northern city of Mosul.
A huge operation to crush the 1,200 fighters who remained from a terrorist force once estimated at more than 12,000 began on May 10.
Operation Lion’s Roar, in which the Iraqi army combined forces with the Americans’ 3rd Armoured Cavalry Regiment, has already resulted in the death of Abu Khalaf, the Al-Qaeda leader, and the capture of more than 1,000 suspects.
