James Lewis has posted an essay at American Thinker..."Is an October Surrender in the Making?"

Mr. Lewis asks, Why do both Hillary and Baracky have their top foreign policy advisers in Damascus, Syria, at this stage of the Primary season? From the NY Sun link provided by Mr. Lewis...

"What in the world are advisers to both Senators Obama and Clinton doing in Syria in the middle of a presidential campaign — and why are the two campaigns so unforthcoming about the details of the visits? The same week that a terrorist mastermind harbored by the Baathist regime in Damascus was assassinated by a car bomb, both one of Mr. Obama's foreign policy counselors, Zbigniew Brzezinski, a long-time critic of Israel, and one of Mrs. Clinton's national finance chairs, Hassan Nemazee, were meeting with President Assad."

Yeah, I remember Zbigniew. Jimmah Carter's foreign policy failures started with Zbig as architect. Under Carter's failed leadership, we saw Ayatollah Khomeni, the Iranian hostage Crisis, and the rise of the Muslim State in Iran. Thanks, Jimmy Carter, and Zbig. I was really hoping to never see him in a policy position again.

So why do both Democratic Nominees have their (snicker) top-flight foreign policy advisers in Damascus ("a world sanctuary for Islamic terrorists") now, before they've even secured their own party's nomination? Mr. Lewis' excellent theory as answer to that question:

"They are telling Terror Central to hold any plans to attack us during the presidential election. Why? Because another 9/11 attack before the election would give the presidency to John McCain, who looks like a hard-ball guy militarily.

"It's the reverse of the October Surprise Theory: Call it the October Surrender Theory. The Terror Masters have huge leverage with the Democrats, because they can keep Obama or Hillary out of the White House. You can bet that they know it. They are using that leverage today."

This theory brinks on the obvious.

Democrats are surrender-bound in Iraq; they've promised their BDS sufferers for years now that we will pull out as quickly as possible.

If there's a 'gentleman's understanding' between Obama's foreign policy Zbig and any power brokers on the terrorist's side of the fence to 'carefully mind your manners' until, say, November 15, then they will be assured that Obama will be in a position to hold up his end of the 'bargain'...which of course is surrender and withdrawal from Iraq and Afghanistan; and reigning in American's traditional support for Israel. (I'm purposefully discounting Hillary's bid for a successful nomination because I want to discount Hillary every chance I get, and I'm praying for Texas primary voters to finally put her out of this.)

Obama's quote from a CNN debate...“I don't want to just end the war, but I want to end the mindset that got us into war in the first place.”

Now, Obama has declared publicly support for Israel with caveat "but the only thing I will not do is to relinquish the possibility that our Middle East policy involves more than just arms sales and military and strategic options to consider. There has to be an effective diplomacy."

Earlier, in Iowa, Obama..."Nobody is suffering more than the Palestinian people.'' *

Don't forget, too, Obama's endorsement from George Soros, the fervent leftist and supporter of all things anti-Israel.

And, Obama's Church of Choice is ministered to by Jeremiah Wright Jr....who loves him some Louis Farrakhan. Farrakan spoke well about Jews... Jews are "bloodsuckers". And, Farrakahn..."The Jews don't like Farrakhan, so they call me Hitler. Well, that's a good name. Hitler was a very great man."

It may be that Obama sent Zbig to Syria for reasons other than Mr. Lewis' theory of "October Surrender". We don't know for sure; they aren't elaborating.

One thing I'm sure of is that any 'brokered' deals hatched by Zbig and whoever he's sucking up to in Syria during this primary season won't be supportive of America's interests in the Middle East, nor of Israel.
