NBC Doesn't Support the Troops UPDATED: Newt Gingrich Calls for Boycott of NBC UPDATED AGAIN: NBC CAVES
Posted by kotang at 11:09 PM
NBC is long known for it's liberal bias. From KOS-like commenter Keith Olbermann on MSNBC to syndicated pundit Chris Matthews (who worked for Tip O'Neil) and Tim Russert (worked for Mario Cuomo), there's always some slap at conservatives. Olbermann once said that President George Bush is taking the money "out of the pockets of dead soldiers in the battlefield."
So does it surprise that NBC is refusing to air this commercial thanking the troops during the Christmas season?
Their reason? This ad was paid for by Freedom's Watch, a group that gasp! supports the President.
WASHINGTON - NBC has rejected a TV ad by Freedom’s Watch, a conservative group that supports administration policy in Iraq, that asks viewers to remember and thank U.S. troops during the holiday season.Even CNN ran this ad. If CNN (of the famous Loaded Debates) will run the ad, as biased as they are, then what's NBC's problem?
NBC said it declined to air the ad because it refers to the group’s Web site, which the network said was too political, not because of the ad’s message
They are eaten up with BDS.
Can't say I watched much NBC; can say I'll go out of my way to never watch their crap again. MSNBC moves a notch farther left than CNN.
Let the boycott begin...
UPDATE Drudge just posted this video...
UPDATE: NBC Caves in to pressure; will air Freedomwatch's Support the Troop Video!
"We have reviewed and changed our ad standards guidelines and made the decision that our policy will apply to content only and not to a referenced Web site. Based on these amended standards the Freedom's Watch ad will begin to run as early as Sunday."Lesson learned.
Only temporarily, though, I'm sure...
