This is just getting freaking annoying. I feel somewhat...dirty...having a Ron Paul Cookie proffer every time I log in to my site.

I've posted this message on BLOGGER HELP and GOOGLE-SOMETHING BROKEN, and to the Ron Paul 2008 dot com web site...

FROM: serr8d@hotmail.com

RE: Unwanted cookies proffered to visitors to my homepage from BLOGGER script running on my Blogger web log, and also offered to me when I log in to the BLOGGER Start Page

I log and monitor cookie access using my Firefox browser.Since 11/18/07, I've noticed a Cookie Request on my home page and when I log on to Blogger's start page for Ron Paul 2008 dot com. Please see my blog posts (URL'ed below) for details.

I've run numerous checks for spy software and viruses; there is nothing in my PC's. This issue is external to my PC's.

By removing the site from my Firefox Privacy/Cookies/Exceptions list I've determined, using the Firefox add on "NoScript", that the cookie request comes from the BLOGGER script. I shut down every script running, and found the cookie request disappeared when the BLOGGER script was disabled. Note that the BLOGGER script is invisible at my homepage; the cookie request was only disabled at the BLOGGER START PAGE.

Is there some reason Blogger-GOOGLE is in collusion with Ron Paul 2008 dot com to set a cookie to visitors to my homepage? Please advise. I have never visited RonPaul2008dotcom, and have no desire to have my site proffer a cookie request to me or to my site visitors from ronpaul2008dotcom.

Thank you for your attention/response to this issue.

Hmmmph.

The problem is solved. An excellent job of sleuthing by the Ron Paul Website Team:
Hello Serr,

Below is the findings of our investigation at your request. Apologies
for any confusion or frustration this caused you - it took our lead
programmer about two hours to track down the source. In short -
another site is now redirecting all traffic to ronpaul2008.com which
causes a 404 error that creates the culprit cookie. Removing this now
defunct abortion widget code from your blog will fix the problem.

Cheers,
Wyatt

So, evilfurby is defunct, and now is Ron Paul's handmaiden.

That little anti-abortion widget was designed to bring to attention the number of American Children killed by Abortion since the start of the Iraq war. Last I checked, the number was approaching 6 MILLION...roughly the same number as was killed in the Holocaust.

Ron Paul gets kudos for his anti-abortion stance.

But so does Fred Thompson...

I replaced the redirected picture/link with this one...

;D
