Theodore Roosevelt's ideas on Immigrants and on being and becoming an AMERICAN...
in 1907

"In the first place, we should insist that if the immigrant who comes here in good faith becomes an American and assimilates himself to us, he shall be treated on an exact equality with everyone else, for it is an outrage to discriminate against any such man because of creed, or birthplace, or origin. But this is predicated upon the person's becoming in every facet an American, and nothing but an American...There can be no divided allegiance here. Any man who says he is an American, but something else also, isn't an American at all. We have room for but one flag, the American flag... We have room for but one language here, and that is the English language... and we have room for but one sole loyalty and that is a loyalty to the American people."

Theodore Roosevelt 1907

Hmmmm....these foreign terms, lost to our leadership today, left behind somewhere in time in the past 100 years..."assimilation", "divided allegiance", "loyalty"...that's what made this country work.

Without at least some allegiance and loyalty from our citizens, we're doomed to fracture and fall. Much as we're seeing today, it seems we're trading our national security for Political Correctness.

From the Democratic Debate, Nov. 14 on the Clinton Cowed News Network, Wolf Blitzer (who was properly scared of The Girl after what happened to his counterpart Tim Russert, who has yet to get his credibility with the Democrats back) did manage to elicit this admission from Governor Richardson...
MR. BLITZER: Let me just be precise because I want to make sure we all -- I heard you correctly. What you're saying, Governor, is that human rights, at times, are more important than American national security?

GOV. RICHARDSON: Yes, because I believe we -- (applause) -- we need to find ways to say to the world that, you know, it's not just about what Halliburton wants in Iraq, it's also about our -- (cheers, applause) -- values of freedom, equality. Our strength is not just military and economic. Our strength as a nation is our values -- equality, freedom, democracy --

MR. BLITZER: All right. All right.
Look back at that transcript, try to find one man who could fill Teddy Roosevelts' boots.

I can single out several who couldn't perform a polish...
