Termed a 'miscalculation', a 'misjudgement', a 'fumble'...Nancy Pelosi wanted to push an Armenian genocide resolution through Congress, in spite of President Bush's insistence that it would annoy Turkey...an ally of the War on Terror. Most Democrats even knew better than to push for this one. So, at the last minute, she pulled the bill from the floor of the House.

Pelosi, 67, speaker of the House of Representatives and next in line to the presidency after the vice president, swore she would push the controversial resolution to a vote, then blinked when some fellow Democrats withdrew their support in the face of furious reaction from Turkey.
This isn't the first time Nancy has screwed up foreign policy...she flew into Damascus, Syria, to undercut President Bush's policy there.

Of course Dems won't directly come out and bash their Speaker...Murtha...

"She feels morally committed to this issue," said Murtha. "It's just, is it practical at this point to go forward with it?"
Since when did anything moral matter much to Democrats, John (Haditha Marines) Murtha? That's a stretch at best. Even weaker is Kucinich's excuse...she had too much on her plate...
"The pace of this institution is not always conducive to a well-thought-out approach, to considering the consequences of a certain type of action,"

There were some questions as to whether this was a 'backdoor foreign policy' move, to annoy Turkey enough to close US access to Turkish bases. Nothing that anyone would admit, but given all the failures Democrats are suffering (the Iraq 'Surrender' failure, and just last week, the SCHIP flop...
"If members of Congress are plotting with interest groups to weaken Turkish support of U.S. policy in Iraq and thus undermine American forces in Iraq, the drama thickens beyond my capacity to comprehend,"

from GWU's Henry Nau.

Henry, your drama capacity should probably expand.
