Your unexpected surprise of the weekend. Jeff Fisher was jumping for joy as the clock counted down the final 90 seconds that found the Titans a surprising 13-10 winner over the favored Jacksonville Jaguars.

Chris Brown rushed for 175 yards, effectively making a dramatic announcement that he's a lot better than anyone has given him credit for...especially the Titans, who pretty much sat him last year while Travis Henry took the glory. Chris wanted out, explored the market, and re-signed with the Titans. Now, he's ready to prove himself. This is the way to do it. The Jags could only rush 72 team yards between two backs, that includes QB David Garrard scrambling for 24.

The Titans set a franchise rushing record today: 282 yards, comprised of Chris Brown's 175 yards, Lendale White added 66 yards, and let's not forget Vince Young, who scrambled for 22 yards and the Titan's only TD. Brandon Jones added 19 yards rushing (most on a neat reverse that caught the Jag's defense squad flat-footed.)

What about the vaunted Jag defense? They didn't show up today. All we saw from the Jags was Jack Del Rio in a suit. That dude was one unhappy coach We heard the frpm the announcers was that DelRio's demeanor before the game and during the week prior was won of confidence and near-swagger. He even trotted out Fisher's old comment from years ago that 'Jacksonville was the Titan's second home' (or something to that effect)...today, it looked almost like old home week. Jacksonville may have suffered from overconfidence, and the Titans took advantage of that and of Chris Brown's unexpected heat.

You can bet that the Colts sat around watching the game today, taking notes. They'll be in town next Sunday, well-rested from their Thursday night demolishing of the hapless Saints 41-10.

We'll see next weekend what momentum the Titans garner from this surprising victory. One thing certain, we won't have an 0-5 start this season...
