Vick's dealing now with a minimum one-year prison plea-bargain, and when that lovely cell-time is over, the Commish will likely suspend him for another year. So, by 2010, Vick might approach the NFL again. As a quarterback? Probably not. He's a mobile QB, not a pocket-passer, and mobile QB's pro-lives are somewhat short. As is Vick, at 5' 10". And, I don't think the NFL will be Vick-friendly whenever he finishes paying his dues. Some things scar a man for life, and the NFL doesn't need those associations.
Seems like Vick should have known better than to continue his nasty life-long hobby of dog slavery and torture. Such an ignoble sort of pastime, the lowest-common-denominator of the dregs of humanity participating in overt abject cruelty and meanness. Self-degrading behavior, and Vick not only participated, he sponsored this stuff at a very high level, a nationwide purveyor of dog fighting, an elite participant in a group of criminals.
That's why I created that photochop...there's several levels of disgust going on there. None of them I can well express in words, but you can see for yourself what I perceive to be Vick's legacy...chained to his fate.
Dan Collins had approached me a month or so ago, about a possible Vick 'chop. I didn't have anything in mind, then, but after hearing of Vick's possible plea bargain yesterday, I thought of...chains. I sent the pic to Dan last night. Dan posted the picture in the Protein Wisdom Pub. It's there, waiting for a caption.
I don't need to caption it...my work is done.
