McCain McCuts Campaign Staff, after getting his Face Slapped on his (and Ted's) Shamnesty Bill
Posted by kotang at 8:37 PMIt has to hurt...McCain aligns himself with Terrible Ted Kennedy, and even has President (Lame Duck) Bush on his side...and still loses the most significant fight he's ever had in the Senate, where his Immigration Reform bill couldn't get past the people.
From the Arizona Republic (where, in Phoenix, it's 105°)
"Republican John McCain reorganized his campaign Monday, cutting staff in every department as he raised just $11.2 million in the last three months and reported an abysmal $2 million cash on hand for his presidential bid."He's lucky to have $2 on hand. Mistake to meld with Feingold in the original slap-in-the-face to Conservatives, another mistake in this attempted face-slap to the American People on Shamnesty...but it looks like that slap was reversed.
“We confronted reality and we dealt with it in the best way that we could so that we could move forward,” said Terry Nelson, McCain's campaign manager.I hope this is a lesson to the rest of the Republicans, a lesson learned well enough to last, oh, a few months...that lesson being, don't align yourself with the worst the Left has to offer, and expect support from the Conservative base.
Fool us once, shame...and so on.
Too bad this lesson has to come so late in your career, John. This was your last shot at the Presidency.
