Yeah, everything flushed down the drain last week, when the Hard Drive (Maxtor, BTW; it's gonna be Western Digital from now on!) locked up overnight. Not even DOS and the Doc could make it budge. Some manufacturing error, a single dust particle in the clean room when the thing was created finally bashed the platters silly, causing the crash.
I lost a lot of pics, all my emails, a ton of other stuff I can't even remember existed right now.
And my favorite Photochopper...an old program, sure, but irreplaceable...or so I thought.
I did find Gimp, a GNU-based photo editor that's supposed to be as good as Photoshop, without the user-friendly interface...and without the hefty price-tag, either. So, I'll have to learn a whole new system. Bear with me...the 'chops will continue, just at...a learning pace.
I did learn this, today...I spotted this 'running' image, and it needed fixing, so...downloaded GIMP, and started playing.
Hmmph...always been a quick study...
